FAQs about pricing and billing
Clients who use insurance often only owe a co-pay per session – with $0-$50 being the most common. However, the exact cost of our services varies, based on your payment method (insurance or self-pay) and your insurance plan’s specific benefits if you’re using insurance or your provider’s specific self-pay rate if you’re choosing to self-pay.
We accept most insurances and are proud to cover 180 million Americans across the country including UnitedHealthcare, Humana, BlueCross BlueShield, Aetna, Cigna, TUFTS, Tricare, Medicare, and more.
Yes, the majority of our providers accept Medicare. There are select provider types, however, that are not eligible to accept Medicare (per federal regulations), including licensed professional counselors and marriage and family therapists. Please confirm the provider you’d like to schedule with accepts Medicare before booking.
If you don’t have insurance or your plan doesn’t cover mental health services, you can use self-pay instead.
Below is our self-pay breakdown by service and state. You can also find the exact self-pay rate for each clinician on their profile, and we can provide this information over the phone, too — so that you can make an informed, confident decision before scheduling with us.

No – as of 2023, there is no longer a Thriveworks membership fee. The extra resources and support services, traditionally associated with our membership, are now complimentary. We believe these supplemental resources enable our clients to get the very best care throughout their journey with us. As such, they are now available to all of our clients for free.
We have a flexible cancellation policy that allows clients to reschedule or cancel an appointment up to 48 hours in advance. Clients will be charged a late cancellation fee of $135 if they cancel or reschedule within less than 48 hours of their appointment, don’t show up for their appointment, or are more than 10 minutes late to a 30 minute-appointment or 15 minutes late to a 60-minute appointment (unless the session is resumed and care is delivered).
