My path to becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner was different than most. I completed my bachelor's degree and floundered, not finding a career that felt right before returning to school to become a nurse, then nurse practitioner. Throughout school, I was the go-to person when others needed someone to listen, so mental health and psychiatry felt like the obvious choice. I have worked in a variety of settings, from the corrections to mental health crisis centers. I began working as a psychiatric NP in 2013, with extensive experience in serious mental illness, addiction, depression, anxiety, and substance use within my own family.

As a nurse practitioner I incorporate my insight from all my various life experiences and work settings to create an individualized plan that addresses the patient as a whole person, not just their mental health medication. My goal is to help someone feel better and have a better quality of life.

Each of my patients is an individual to me, with their own life, stressors, and challenges—but also their own skills and strengths. I want to focus on the positives and moving forward in reaching healing and recovery, not just in mental health but also life in general.

I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 13 years of experience, licensed in both Nevada and Idaho. I’ve had the privilege of supporting children, teens, and adults in a variety of settings, including family homes, community mental health centers, and private practice. I specialize in helping clients work through challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions. My style is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on building resilience.

I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Nevada, where I developed a strong foundation in trauma-informed care. I use approaches such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and internal family systems to guide the healing process.

Eileen Ganong is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 14 years of experience working with adults and seniors who are faced with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, weight-related issues, grief, difficult life transitions, trauma, and PTSD. 

Eileen received her Master's degree from Barry University in Miami, FL, and is licensed in Florida as well as her home state of Idaho. Her experience includes working for seven years as an inpatient Social Worker at an acute care psychiatric unit, supervising a large Mobile Crisis team, and assisting in outpatient therapy. Her therapeutic approaches include trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, and motivational interviewing. It can be very overwhelming to see a therapist, particularly if this is your first time. 

Eileen's casual approach is designed to make you as comfortable as possible and invites you to share your story and offers a warm, non-threatening and non-judgmental atmosphere. She strives to empower you to work with her on your issues and problems and promises empathy and a light-hearted approach.

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 8 years of experience supporting individuals as they navigate anxiety, OCD, depression, and relationship and family concerns. I am also currently a trained EMDR clinician. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in meaningful change, and I work collaboratively with clients to clarify their goals and align their values with the life they want to build.

My work is grounded in a cognitive behavioral framework, with treatment tailored to each individual’s needs. I frequently use exposure and response prevention therapy, particularly when working with clients experiencing anxiety and OCD.

I have worked in inpatient, outpatient, and group treatment settings, and I have extensive experience working with military veterans, law enforcement, first responders, and individuals affected by post-traumatic stress.
