As a counselor who has struggled with ADHD and social anxiety, I understand the impact that mental health can have on daily life.
Before earning my master’s degree in counseling education, I worked with autistic children in a clinical setting and teenagers in an inpatient setting. I primarily work with children and adolescents experiencing anger, anxiety, and depression, particularly those with ADHD or autism. I also have experience working with adults and families.
I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel comfortable enough for me to be honest, direct, and straightforward when needed. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, to meet each client where they are and tailor treatment to their individual needs.
I don’t just believe that people have the power to change—I know they do. I’ve seen it happen. When we work together toward a goal that is meaningful to you, I believe you can make lasting, meaningful change.

I believe therapy should be a safe, judgment free space where you can feel heard, understand yourself more deeply, and develop practical tools to create meaningful change.

My therapeutic philosophy promotes healthy lifestyle habits, meaningful connections, appropriately prescribed medications, self reflection, and personal accountability. As a Mexican-American first gen daughter, I understand the challenges and traumas that make an impact on oneself to always be changing.
Hello, I am Lizette. I enjoy nature, crocheting, art and music. I did my bachelor’s at Meredith and did my master’s at UNCW. I worked with immigrants and refugees then switched over to clinical support with the supporting Latino and Hispanics in mental health. I found a passion to work with children and teens. Most teens face a struggle for finding who they are, feeling unsupported or unheard and face some challenges in school and at home. I work with them to find themselves and explore to get to understand who they are and feel confident.
My style is to work with the client and their parents. I do fun and creative activities to get the client engaged like art therapy, play therapy, music therapy. I let the client lead with what they wanna work on, if there is nothing I would have something to do. I also tend to have some resources to help the client grow and give a space for clients. .
It is difficult navigating day to day, and sometimes without realizing we get stuck, frustrated, and lost. You can take a moment to schedule an appointment to heal and explore more about why you feel in that way.

This first session is about getting to know each other: what brought you in, where you’d like support, and anything else on your mind. It’s a space to be open, without judgment.
Together, you’ll start shaping a plan for your care and what comes next.
Go ahead and book your next session before you leave your first. Most patients meet weekly, but you and your therapist will decide what’s right for you.
Your therapist will keep building tools and strategies with you, tailored to what you’re working through.
Yes, it is possible to get a same-day therapy appointment. We have licensed therapists ready every day, including evenings and weekends. When you browse online, you’ll see providers licensed in your state and their real-time availability—same-day availability varies by location.
There’s no additional charge for same-day therapy. It’s the same rate as any other session. Thriveworks is in-network with more insurance plans than any other mental health provider*, allowing many patients to pay $0 to $55 per session in copays. Self-pay is also an option, with rates at $200 to $240 for your first session and $160 to $195 for follow-ups.
*Based on an independent analysis of national insurance claims data comparing in-network participation across leading mental health providers.

You can switch to another provider anytime at no extra cost. If you’re comfortable being open about it with your current provider, they can refer you to someone else on our team. Or call us and we’ll help you find a better fit.
It’s an important decision: Research shows the therapeutic relationship itself is one of the strongest predictors of progress in therapy.
