Philosophy of Care

Stress levels in the average person are higher than ever.  Financial, family and health issues are leading many to seek Counseling, and this is usually an excellent decision.  Negativity is everywhere; --the news, social media, missing family and friends, leading a less spontaneous life.  All these factors may result in depression, anger, anxiety, and the loss of self-esteem and destructive thought patterns and habits.  Every client is unique and they enter into therapy for different reasons, but the one similarity between every client is that they are seeking a resolution…they want to feel better.

Working with diverse types of people is interesting and fulfilling.  Most clients understand that, in most cases there is no instant fix for mental health issues, that it is usually more of a journey that the client and therapist take together.  That journey requires empathy and a very well-developed sense of listening skills on the part of the Counselor and a willingness to share on the part of the client.  This is a

Establishing rapport and trust with clients as well as creating a non- judgmental atmosphere is a specialty in my practice.  People seeking Counseling are incredibly brave. I encourage you to contact me and take the first step. If you’re thinking about starting therapy you probably need to take a deep breath and make that phone call. You’ll be so glad you did. Sometimes you just need to talk.

Rosemary Carroll, LPC

Have you ever put together a puzzle without seeing the picture first? I so enjoy the challenge of seeing how all the pieces fit together to create a whole. Therapy is similar. My clients come to me with various pieces of their lives that don't seem to fit well. My role is to facilitate a person's renewed sense of vision for the parts of the puzzle that aren't working the way they would like them to. I have a plethora of tools I use to ensure my clients reach optimal levels of success.  My experiences of working with children, families, in leadership roles and in diverse situations has given me insight into the myriad of complexities that continually impact another's ability to make decisions which could have life altering consequences. As a therapist, I am an objective participant who guides and facilitates my client's awareness of how each piece of their life puzzle can be used to create a beautiful tapestry.

Professionally, I graduated with my master’s in counseling in 2002 and I became fully licensed shortly thereafter. My experience has been in agency, private practice and school counseling. I continually stay up to date in current practices and techniques and I am especially interested in trauma and how I can help the survivor thrive.

Rosemary's Specialties include:

  • Trauma
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Social skills development
  • Anger management
  • Teen issues
  • Difficult relationships
  • Self esteem
  • Women’s issues
  • Career counseling
