Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a psychiatric provider because I know what it's like to grow up believing that emotions were a sign of weakness. That message unintentionally taught me to suppress my feelings, avoid vulnerability, and believe I had to carry life's challenges on my own. Over time, I came to understand that healing begins when people are given permission to be honest about what they're experiencing and are met with compassion instead of judgment. That realization continues to shape the way I care for others. I believe effective psychiatric care is about more than prescribing medication, it's about taking the time to understand the person behind the symptoms and creating a treatment plan that honors their experiences and goals. Everyone deserves a safe space where they can be authentic and express every version of themselves without fear, shame, or the expectation of having it all figured out. Whether someone is facing anxiety, depression, trauma, or another mental health challenge, my goal is to provide thoughtful, compassionate, and collaborative care that helps them feel seen, heard, and empowered. It is a privilege to walk alongside people during some of life's most difficult moments and support them on their journey toward healing.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma, stressrelated concerns, and other mental health challenges. Whether someone is seeking support for the first time or looking for a fresh approach to treatment, my goal is to provide compassionate, individualized care that helps them feel seen. I believe effective psychiatric care is built on trust, collaboration, and a treatment plan tailored to each person's experiences, values, and goals.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish every client knew that bad days do not erase progress. Healing isn't linear, and growth rarely happens in a straight line. There will be setbacks, difficult days, and moments when it feels like you're back where you started, but that doesn't mean you've failed. Every step you take, no matter how small, is part of the journey. Be patient with yourself, celebrate the victories that often go unnoticed, and remember that progress is measured by persistence, not perfection.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
During our first appointment, my priority is getting to know you, not just your symptoms, but your story. We'll talk about what brought you in, your current concerns, your personal and family history, and the goals you hope to achieve through treatment. We'll also discuss any previous experiences with therapy or medication and answer any questions you may have. In the early stages of treatment, we'll work together to develop a personalized plan that aligns with your unique needs and goals. This may include medication management, supportive counseling, education about your diagnosis, and practical strategies to help you feel your best. My goal is to build a judgment-free partnership where you feel heard, respected, and actively involved in every decision about your care. I hope you'll feel comfortable enough to let your guard down, speak openly, and know that you don't have to pretend everything is okay. This is a space where you can show up exactly as you are.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
Growing up, I learned to suppress my emotions because vulnerability was often seen as weakness. That experience shaped my belief that everyone deserves a safe, judgment-free space where they can be authentic, have a voice, and begin to heal.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health care. Every person brings a unique story, set of experiences, strengths, and goals. I take the time to understand what matters most to you and develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, education, supportive counseling, and practical coping strategies. As your needs evolve, we'll adjust your treatment together to ensure it continues to support your growth and well-being.
