I'm Fletcher Collins, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 16 years of experience in mental health. I provide compassionate, evidence-based care to children, adolescents, and adults, focusing on medication management, education, and therapy. I work with ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, PTSD, behavioral concerns, and emotional dysregulation. Many clients want a provider who truly listens and works collaboratively. My goal is to help you understand your symptoms, improve functioning, and feel confident in your mental health.
My approach is collaborative and individualized. I listen carefully and create treatment plans tailored to your symptoms, goals, and comfort level. I specialize in medication management with education and supportive therapy. Expect a nonjudgmental environment where your concerns are taken seriously and decisions are made together.
Reaching out for support is a big step, and you deserve care where you feel heard and respected. We can work together at a comfortable pace, focusing on changes that matter most to you. When ready, schedule an appointment and move toward feeling more balanced and confident in your mental health.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a psychiatric provider because I’ve seen firsthand how deeply mental health can affect every part of a person’s life, and how meaningful it is when someone finally feels heard, understood, and supported. After many years working in mental health, I wanted to take a more active role in helping people understand what they’re experiencing, find effective treatment, and regain a greater sense of stability and control. Becoming a psychiatric provider allows me to combine clinical knowledge, medication management, education, and genuine human connection to help people move toward healthier and more fulfilling lives.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who want a provider who will take the time to listen, understand their concerns, and involve them in decisions about their care. Many of the people I work with are looking for more than just a prescription; they want to better understand what they’re experiencing and find a treatment plan that realistically fits their life. I work well with clients who value open communication, collaboration, and a supportive, nonjudgmental approach as we work toward greater stability, confidence, and overall functioning.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Healing is rarely a straight line, and progress doesn’t mean you’ll never struggle again—it means you’re gaining a better understanding of yourself, building healthier tools, and learning how to move through difficult moments with greater confidence and support.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In your first session with me, you can expect a relaxed, nonjudgmental conversation focused on getting to know you, understanding what brought you to care, and learning how your symptoms are affecting your daily life. We’ll review your mental health history, current concerns, medications, goals, and any past treatments that have or haven’t worked for you. In the early stages, we’ll work together to create a clear, individualized treatment plan, make adjustments as needed, and build a foundation of trust, open communication, and shared decision-making so you feel comfortable and involved in your care.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is guided by compassion, respect, patience, and the belief that every person deserves to feel heard rather than judged. Years of working with individuals from many different backgrounds and at different stages of life have taught me that mental health care is most effective when it is collaborative, individualized, and realistic. I value honesty, open communication, and shared decision-making, and I try to create a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves, asking questions, and taking an active role in their treatment. I also believe that a diagnosis does not define a person—my focus is on understanding the whole individual, recognizing their strengths, and helping them move toward the quality of life they want.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor care by first understanding each client’s symptoms, experiences, strengths, goals, lifestyle, and preferences rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I adjust my communication style, education, supportive therapy techniques, and treatment recommendations based on the individual’s age, needs, comfort level, and stage of change. I also regularly check in on what is working, what is not, and how treatment is affecting daily life so we can make thoughtful adjustments together and keep care aligned with the client’s goals.
