My go-to approach for helping people in cognitive behavioral therapy is to teach the cognitive triangle in detail. I enjoy teaching the cognitive triangle because it can be used in a variety of situations and allows us to look for ways to reframe unhelpful thinking.

I teach the following tools in cognitive behavioral therapy:

  • The cognitive triangle: How thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a situation can lead to positive or negative consequences
  • Relaxation techniques to provide control for feelings
  • Feelings as information about a situation, not a truth
  • How the triangle relates to thoughts, feelings, and beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world in general
  • The idea that just because we think something does not make the thought true

I love my Dr Odu-Onikosi. But I have had several very bad experiences with the appt makers and supervisors over the appt making ( if there are any supervisors ....as no one has ever called me back ) The mis information they provide is gross and straight up not correct. You are probably losing patients over this as if I didn't like my Dr so much this second instance would have made me stop using Thrive for my needs all together.
