Chigane Abraham is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 9 years of experience who manages and treats a wide range of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, bipolar disorders, sleep, insomnia and more. She is passionate about providing quality, compassionate, and comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults.
Chigane completed her Master's degree in Nursing at Walden University. She has over 9 years of experience in mental health care. She has worked in acute care hospital settings and has managed chronic and acute behavioral conditions. Chigane possesses strong clinical skills and a natural ability to build rapport with patients and families. In addition to medication management, she incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), culturally sensitive therapy (CST), and much more.

Why did you decide to become a psychiatric provider?
From my background, there is a huge stigma towards mental health. This has motivated me to want to raise mental health awareness and helping increase accessibility to mental health services.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
One of the things that i always want clients to know is that "I am here for them always". I am here to help and support them through their mental journey.

What inspires you?
Learning new things and acquiring new skills. Also overcoming challenges.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I am passionate about what I do and give it my utmost best every time I have an encounter with a client. I treat everyone with respect and integrity.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Spending time with my children, family and friends cooking.
