Experience effective therapy with a counselor or therapist in Lubbock

When we stop to think about our mental health needs, they can seem hard to identify. Unlike our physical health, which we know requires things like exercise and healthy food, our mental health requirements might be a little fuzzy in comparison. For some of us, this uncertainty often comes from the cultural stigma that surrounds mental health topics. This stigma can be harmful when it keeps us from addressing issues that are causing damage to ourselves and the people around us.

At Thriveworks Counseling & Psychiatry Lubbock, getting support from a mental health professional is something that we view as a proactive step. It’s not something that takes away your independence, especially when choosing to connect with one of our providers can improve many aspects of your life.

For those who are busy, it may feel impractical, even selfish, to prioritize your mental well-being. But in reality, we often are not able to be fully present and at full capacity in our daily lives if we ignore the issues that are bothering us on the inside. Getting therapy or psychiatric care at our Lubbock office is a simple, effective, and convenient way to meet your mental health care needs. Give us a call at (806) 507-6934 to get started, or schedule online today.

Can Mental Health Services Help Me?

Everyone is unique. That’s why the mental health professionals at Thriveworks partner with our clients to create a personalized treatment plan, one that’s designed to produce results. Many of our providers help everyday people like you who are experiencing:

  • Difficulty coping with work or a relationship
  • Difficulty regulating emotions like anger or grief
  • Feelings of sadness or hopelessness for an extended period of time
  • Issues and crossed boundaries in their marriage or relationship
  • Anxiety or disruptive, racing thoughts that upset their daily life

Through effective coping strategies and management techniques provided by our mental health professionals, you’ll be better equipped to handle life’s ups and downs. If you aren’t experiencing any of the signs and symptoms that we’ve listed above, there’s no need to be worried. We understand, and that’s why individualized treatment plans are part of our process.

When you connect with a provider at Thriveworks Counseling & Psychiatry Lubbock, you’ll be sharing your experience with an industry-leading expert; someone with the experience and professional insight you need to move forward.

What Is the Difference Between Therapy, Counseling, and Psychiatry?

Therapy, provided by counselors and therapists, addresses emotional and behavioral challenges using therapeutic techniques for mental well-being. Counseling, offered by counselors or therapists, focuses on specific issues and life adjustments, while psychiatry, led by our psychiatric nurse practitioners, involves diagnosing and treating mental health conditions with medication.

What Are the Types of Therapists You Can See?

At Thriveworks Counseling & Psychiatry Lubbock, you can choose from:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs): Specialized in social work and counseling for individuals, families, and groups.
  • Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs): Focus on providing mental health treatment for different disorders, struggles, and other concerns. They can also specialize in marriage and family services.
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs): Specialized in marriage and family therapy, addressing conflict within families and couples and teaching important skills to help improve relationships, such as communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving. They can also provide treatment for mental health concerns and disorders.

When you connect with a provider at Thriveworks Counseling & Psychiatry Lubbock, you’ll be sharing your experience with an industry-leading expert; someone with the experience and professional insight you need to move forward.

Are the Therapists at Thriveworks Licensed and Verified to Provide Therapy?

Yes, all of our therapists, counselors, and psychiatric nurse practitioners are licensed or in the process of receiving their licensure under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional.

What Are the Benefits of Online Therapy and In-Person Therapy?

The benefits of online therapy include:

  • Convenience and accessibility from anywhere
  • Reduced travel time and costs
  • A comfortable and familiar environment
  • A wider selection of therapists to choose from

The benefits of in-person therapy include:

  • Face-to-face interaction and non-verbal cues
  • No reliance on internet connection or technology
  • Privacy and confidentiality in a physical office

The Benefits of Online Psychiatry at Thriveworks Counseling & Psychiatry Lubbock

For some people, it’s more beneficial to receive treatment through our online psychiatry program. Psychiatrists are a specialized type of provider. If you’re not familiar with what a psychiatric provider does, they have:

  • A medical background.
  • The ability to prescribe medications.
  • A combinative approach to mental healthcare, by using prescriptions and/or therapy sessions to assist clients.

Our online psychiatry offers great benefits that allow you to:

  • Still make time for your own needs if you’re watching kids or elderly loved ones
  • Get the mental health care you need, even if you suffer from mobility issues or chronic health conditions
  • Rest assured, knowing that Thriveworks online services still follow the strictest guidelines from the APA and HIPAA
  • Receive the same quality care that you would from an in-person session
  • Connect with your psychiatrist from home, your office, or anywhere that has reliable internet and a private space to chat

Online psychiatry is a great option for people who are nervous about connecting with their provider in person. We understand that you may have reservations about psychiatric services, especially when we’re talking about prescription medications and medical doctors. But rest assured, our psychiatric team in Lubbock, TX is on your side. In addition to being qualified professionals who have experience treating all types of mental health conditions, they’re empathetic listeners who value your personal experience.

Signs I Should Go to Therapy

Some of the signs you might benefit from therapy or psychiatric services include:

  • Persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, or hopelessness
  • Difficulty managing and coping with daily stress
  • Strained or troubled relationships with family, friends, or partners
  • Overwhelming grief after a significant loss
  • Frequent mood swings, anger, or irritability
  • Changes in appetite, sleep patterns, or energy levels
  • Unresolved trauma or past experiences affecting your well-being
  • Struggles with addictive behaviors or substance abuse
  • Loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities
  • Overwhelming feelings of guilt, shame, or worthlessness

Don’t hesitate to reach out to one of our providers if you’re feeling any of these symptoms.

What Should I Do If a Loved One Needs Help?

If you have a loved one who is in need of mental health services, you can help them by attempting to:

  • Communicate openly and non-judgmentally
  • Offer support and encourage them to seek professional help
  • Research and connect them with appropriate resources
  • Be patient and maintain a supportive presence throughout their journey to recovery

Our experienced therapists, counselors, and psychiatric nurse practitioners can assist—don’t hesitate to have the individual you love seek help and support.

How Much Does Therapy Cost?

At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.

How Do I Find the Right Therapist?

To find the right therapist or therapeutic approach at Thriveworks Counseling & Psychiatry Lubbock, browse our provider profiles, or contact your local office at (806) 507-6934 to discuss your needs and preferences with our helpful support team.
