She completed her Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and received her Master's degree in Social Work from San Diego State University. Risa uses the strength-based approach to empower the client to maximize their wellness and quality of life. She works collaboratively with her clients to tailor treatment to each client’s specific needs. Risa trained at the San Diego LGBTQ community center, which has equipped her with a deeper understanding of the psycho-social-emotional issues that LGBTQIA+ community members face.

Risa speaks Japanese fluently and is passionate about working with underserved communities. She offers unconditional positive regard for her clients; work together with her to start building a better reality and self-image, session by session.
