Why did you decide to become a counselor?
My own personal therapeutic journey allowed me to acknowledge how important it is for people to take care of their mental health. I want to support in breaking the mental health stigma that exists in our society, while providing a safe and supportive space for clients to feel heard and understood. Everyone has potential to take back their life for the good.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Clients who are willing to process, try new skills, and are open to positive change. Clients who are open to feedback, are honest with themselves, and are willing to put in the work.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Progress is not linear. As you move along your therapeutic healing, you will most likely come across peaks and valleys. It's all about trusting the process and being honest with yourself. You got this!
What inspires you?
Seeing and hearing clients make progress. Progress can't always be seen right away, and this doesn't mean it's not present. 1% is still progress.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
I'll introduce myself to you, will want to hear from you about your presenting concern(s), get an understanding of what coping skills you have if any, and we will explore your goals and what you're looking to get out of the forthcoming sessions. I'll also be able to answer any questions you may have!
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Build rapport, obtain an understanding of the individuals presenting concern(s), and see what the clients goals are to be able to formulate a personalized treatment plan.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I am here to support your journey. As a client, you are the driving force of your therapeutic experience. You're going to get out what you put in.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
My hobbies involve baking cakes and cupcakes, training in martial arts, exploring the outdoors, watching the Phillies and Eagles, and traveling with family and friends.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks supported me during my journey of acquiring my LPC licensure, provides me flexibility when it comes to scheduling around my daily self-care, supports both clinicians and clients, and provides room for professional growth.
