Get to know David

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I love helping people find their own solutions to seemingly insoluble problems.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I actually feel at home with the entire life span. I love working with children, usually through play. I enjoy helping teens navigate the challenges they inevitably experience, and I relish assisting adults to face the myriad stressors that they encounter.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I have a special affinity for children, couples, and older adults.

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?

No matter how daunting our challenges may seem, the answers inevitably lie within us. The solution is not always easy to find, but we can eventually discern our way through taking the time to pause and reflect.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I love the comprehensive and supportive teamwork of this organization.

What inspires you?

When someone genuinely connects with their Higher Power, however they may conceive of It. Great things become possible when you allow yourself to be inspired by a loving Presence greater than yourself.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

I'll want to gain an understanding of your perspective and how I may be of help.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

My aim is to identify one area, however, small, where some tangible progress can be made.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

I believe that happiness and fulfillment are available to us all, and that a quiet Voice within can guide us in that direction.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

Play with my three grandchildren and go on outings big and small with my wife.

What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

I believe that the Divine lives within each of us and is always offering us guidance, if we but have the patience and the willingness to listen.
