Get to know Christina

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I watched a family member suffer from an eating disorder wanted to understand the disorder and help others from not going through the same thing.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

Those ready for change or those that need a support.

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?

It’s okay to not be perfect and that there are times we take a couple steps back. The idea is that you are almost getting at least a half a step forward.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

Flexibility, open communication, and felt connected to directors. Felt like they were interested in how I can help.

What inspires you?

A beautiful sunset because tomorrow will always be a new day.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Someone ready to listen and provide support.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I want to gather information, get some understanding on what brought them for therapy. I want to set some starting goals based on their needs.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

Art, family time and play music.

What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

I am courteous and a loyal friend. I’ve always been called kind.
