Philosophy of Care

Sonia is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licensed in the state of Florida who has 8 years experience as a registered nurse. She also has over a year experience in the mental health field partnering with adults, and adolescents seeking help with depression, anxiety, life transitions, and many other mental health issues.

She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nova Southeastern University in 2012 and received her Master of Science in Nursing specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner track from Florida International University in 2020.

Sonia utilizes holistic, relational, collaborative, research and evidenced based guideline approaches to treatment always maintaining cultural diversity, creativity, flexibility and awareness necessary to best meet the needs of every unique individual.

Karen is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida who has experience partnering with children (ages 6-17) and adults (18-64+) seeking help with a wide range of difficulties. Karen received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Sociology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and her Masters of Science in Community Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Karen has additional certification training in the area of Grief/Loss/Trauma.

As your therapeutic partner, Karen draws upon evidence-based therapy approaches such as, client-centered, strength-based, emotionally- and solution-focused, cognitive- behavioral, and mindfulness skills. Karen is dedicated to meeting you where you are and together co-creating the therapeutic goals to get you where you want and are committed to go.
