About Amanda
I am a registered mental health counselor intern (RMHCI) with 1 year of experience supporting adults navigating trauma, chronic stress, burnout, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I often work with individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck in survival mode, or disconnected from themselves, as well as high-functioning clients who have spent years prioritizing others and are seeking clarity, balance, and emotional grounding.
I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Capella University. My clinical background includes work in outpatient, community, and school-based settings. I use a trauma-informed, nervous-system-aware approach that integrates mindfulness-based practices, parts work, and somatic awareness to support emotional regulation and insight.
You do not have to navigate this alone. I strive to create a safe, compassionate space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to understand your patterns, process unresolved experiences, and build healthier relationships with yourself and others. When you are ready, I invite you to take the next step toward the care you deserve.

"As a clinician with lived experience balancing caregiving, resilience, and rebuilding, I understand the deep need for safety, compassion, and a place to breathe."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I chose this work because I’ve seen how trauma shapes people’s lives in ways they often don’t have words for, and I’m passionate about helping others feel understood, grounded, and empowered again.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I’m a good fit for clients who struggle with emotional overload, chronic stress, attachment wounds, and patterns that feel hard to break alone.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Healing doesn’t move in a straight line, and what feels like a setback is often your mind learning a new, stronger way forward.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The first session is really about connection and understanding. We’ll talk about what’s going on in your life, what you’re hoping to accomplish from therapy, and what is causing you the most difficulty right now. Early sessions focus on building trust, getting clarity, and finding a rhythm that feels safe and supportive for you.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I believe healing happens in person-to-person relationships where people feel seen, respected, and not judged. My work is guided by compassion, curiosity, honesty and a belief in the inherent worth of every person. I value therapy that is grounded, human, and collaborative and not overly clinical.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach. I adapt therapy based on who you are, what you’re dealing with, and what actually helps you feel supported. That might mean being more structured or more conversational, focusing on coping skills, deeper emotional work, or both, as well as adjusting as your needs change over time.
