About
As one who has a great deal of experience navigating life's challenges and stressors, resilience and empowerment drives my approach to how I support others through empathy, strength, and hope.
As a licensed clinical social worker with over six years of experience, I support individuals ages 12 and up who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, self-image concerns, and life stress. I strive to provide a supportive space where clients can build resilience, gain insight, and feel empowered to create meaningful change in their lives.
My approach integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and motivational interviewing to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together we will work to develop practical coping skills, strengthen resilience, and create realistic steps toward improved wellbeing and personal growth.
Seeking support can feel like a big step, and you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward. When you’re ready, I welcome you to take the next step and begin your journey toward healing and growth.

I'm excited to get the opportunity to work with you! Here are a few things you may need to know before your first appointment. If you choose to do a virtual appointment, you must be residing in North Carolina, which is the state in which I am licensed to provide services. This is not a concern if you are choosing to come in person for appointments. If you are seeking play therapy for a child, this is provided in person only due to the nature of the way service is provided, making it a service that does not lend itself to virtual appointments. This is not a concern for traditional talk therapy with adults, which can be provided virtually.
Terryn Maher is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years of experience working in enhanced levels of mental health care. She is passionate about helping young children who have been through trauma or major life changes utilizing play therapy, as well as adults who have identified issues that they find impact their everyday lives, relationships, and ability to parent in a healthy way. Terryn specializes in trauma-related issues, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, and anxiety disorders.
Terryn completed her Master of Arts in Community Counseling at the University of North Carolina - Charlotte. In addition to her MA, she also completed a graduate certificate in play therapy, a specialized therapeutic approach often utilized for children in the 2.5 to 10-year-old range who may not be able to verbalize and process their issues utilizing traditional talk therapy, due to developmental understanding. Terryn has also completed multiple trauma-related trainings to become a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP), allowing her to provide trauma-informed care to all of her clients. Terryn utilizes multiple treatment approaches with adults to fit their needs including mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and client/person-centered therapy.
While our society has come a long way in destigmatizing mental health needs, Terryn understands it can still be difficult to make that first step and reach out for assistance and strives to make her clients feel as comfortable as they can with the therapeutic process. Terryn also understands how difficult it can be to find the right clinician to help guide you through the therapeutic process. Terryn is willing to work alongside you in your therapeutic journey and meet you where you are at, while also providing the insight and coping strategies you need to grow and heal. If you are ready to start, or even continue, your therapeutic journey, schedule an appointment with Terryn.

The negative effects of complex trauma don't have to be permanent. As someone who specifically specializes in treating complex trauma and dissociation, we can resolve those problems together.
My name is Brian Robertson, but most people just call me Rob. I am an EMDR therapist specializing in treating complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and borderline personality disorder. To best treat those with whom I work with, I am only taking new cases that have complex trauma. I also have experience in treating victims of sex trafficking, military combat trauma, and victims of ritual abuse and programming (cults). I am also a member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, as well as a member of the ISSTD Special Interest Group for the Treatment of Organized and Extreme Abuse.
Using neurobiology, I like to use a scientific evidence-based, but also holistic and person-centered approach. Some of the therapeutic modalities I use are eye-movement desensitization reprocessing therapy (EMDR), ego state therapy, hypnosis, internal family systems (IFS), somatic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive processing therapy.
I like to work with my patients as part of a team and I value being part of the journey in seeing them become the person that they want to be. Through the strength of empowerment, we can work together to help you become the person that you want to be.

The number of life coaching sessions someone attends can differ based on the coach and the client’s choices. How many sessions are needed and how often they occur often hinges on the client’s objectives and the complexity of their concerns. Some clients might opt for a few sessions to tackle particular goals or issues, while others may decide on ongoing coaching sessions to work on personal growth and life enhancement over a more extended period of time.
