Clients can expect practical tools, compassionate guidance, and strategies to foster meaningful, lasting change.

I strive to create a warm, collaborative space where you feel understood and supported, and where we can work together to turn insight into practical, meaningful change in your daily life.
I am a licensed psychologist (Ph.D.) with 9 years of experience providing therapy to adults and couples. I specialize in treating mood and anxiety disorders, including depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, life transitions, and stress. Many of the clients I work with are seeking a deeper understanding of their thoughts and behavior patterns so they can create meaningful, lasting change. I help them clarify their values and take practical, actionable steps toward becoming who they want to be.
I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and have specialized experience in adult individual and couples therapy. I primarily utilize acceptance and commitment therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, while integrating humanistic, values-based approaches.
You deserve a fulfilling life, and I am here to help you move toward it. If you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or held back by self-doubt, we can work together to build insight, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and create forward momentum. When you are ready, I invite you to schedule a session and begin the process of meaningful change.

Kayla Thompson is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who’s passion lies with couples and individuals with concerns about life transitions, anxiety, grief, and trauma. Kayla also works collaboratively with individuals and couples struggling with substance abuse, addictions, and unhealthy coping habits. Kayla is informed in mindfulness, anxiety, Internal Family Systems, trauma, and nutrition for mental health.
Kayla utilizes an integrated approach highlighting certain aspects in Internal Family Systems, cognitive behavioral techniques, and narrative based approaches. She believes humans are social beings who all need a sense of belonging and the past uncovers aspects that are affecting the present. There are often so many cliches to counseling; “feeling stuck” or “how to empower you.” Both which can be true and also a reminder the only reason you need to attend counseling is because you want to.
Kayla always enjoys watching clients transform into their true selves. She understands from personal experience that some transitions are painful/confusing and expressing yourself can be challenging. Her philosophies include helping clients work towards a healthier and happier lifestyle and to help them develop beneficial outlets and coping skills. Through Kayla’s warmth and outward empathy she strives to be a supportive, inspiring, and at times a challenging counselor to help her client’s achieve their goals.
