I’ve always been drawn to hearing people’s stories and learning about their perspectives. As a therapist, I focus on creating a calm and welcoming space where you can gain insight and feel validated.
I’m Shauna Rowland, LMHC, and I’m passionate about helping people feel grounded, understood, and supported as they navigate life’s ups and downs. I offer a warm, collaborative space where you can show up exactly as you are — stressed, overwhelmed, curious, hopeful, or anywhere in between.
I’ve had the privilege of working with clients of all ages in college counseling, community mental health, and partial hospitalization settings. Across these experiences, one thing has stayed the same: people heal best when they feel genuinely seen.
My approach combines talk therapy, psychoeducation, and practical coping strategies to help you manage stress, understand your patterns, and build resilience. I’m client-centered and an active listener who moves at your pace where you can explore your experiences without judgment.
I am dedicated to discovering what works best for each of my clients. I am passionate about promoting self-care and finding strategies to help you stay motivated. I believe that every person deserves to feel validated, supported, and understood, and I hope to create a calm and inviting environment in each session.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

Increasing one’s self-awareness can combat life’s distractions and help people stay focused on what they want from life.
Life’s goals and destinations should be founded upon people’s values, priorities, weaknesses, and strengths. Often, life operates more efficiently when this is so. There are a number of ways that life coaches can help people increase their self-awareness and understanding of these values, priorities, weaknesses, and strengths. One of the most effective is the “Miracle Question.” The basic task of the miracle question is to imagine what could be. Suspend reality for a moment and wonder, what would happen if a miracle occurred and your life were exactly how you wanted it to be? What would be different? The miracle question can come in a variety of forms. For example,
Think right now about how you would answer these. Daily life can stifle dreaming, imagining, and hope, but these are important. They show people what they value, where their priorities are. Life coaches can also lead their clients through exercises to show them their strengths and weaknesses so that they can map out a path toward their goals.
