Elizabeth holds two Master's degrees, one in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and the other in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Massachusetts-Boston.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I enjoy meaningful work and this work gives me the opportunity to promote healthy development in others which is something I strongly value.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work the best with clients who are ready to work on themselves.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I'm most excited to work with anyone who thinks we are a great fit for working together.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
Clinicians may or may not have had life experience in the area in which they're working - but whether they do or don't, clinicians are relying mostly on good training and work experience.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks is a great employer in many ways, but I most admire the positive messages promoted from within the organization, especially from supervisors and clinic directors.

Seeing the natural world unfold before me
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
After the initial intake session, clients have the choice to work on whatever areas are most compelling for them. I ask them to talk about things that are bothering them or things that are important for them to work on.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
We might go over techniques to use to manage symptoms they're experiencing or decide to talk more in depth about an issue they are having.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy parenting, and activities such as swimming & yoga, reading, writing, and spending time with friends.
What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I work really hard and am dedicated to finding the silver lining in situations.
