Jeremy Douglas, LPC

Philosophy of Care

Jeremy Q. Douglas is a state-licensed professional counselor (LPC) with over 8 years of experience helping teens and adults cope with their anxiety, depression, anger, stress, and relationship difficulties.

Jeremy began his work as a therapist in a psychiatric hospital working with dementia patients in West Texas. He spent five years in the psychiatric setting providing care to patients and their loved ones. In 2004, he earned his Bachelor's degree in education from Wayland Baptist University. As an educator, Jeremy learned what it meant to first listen, plan and then address the needs of students. This helped him transition into the mental health field, earning him a Master of Arts degree in Counseling in 2013, also from Wayland Baptist University.

Jeremy believes that a client is the most important piece in the growth process, by taking the reins to their well-being. He also believes that the therapeutic process is a joint effort. A therapist can not be who they are, without the willingness and vulnerability of a client. Together, both can seek and accomplish the goals and outcomes that will give the client what they desire—happiness. As an African American male and therapist, he understands the complexities and struggles associated with finding out who you are, where you fit in, and how best to facilitate your own happiness.

Brandy Messiah is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a mission to deliver quality mental health care to individuals and their families by providing a safe, nonjudgmental environment to foster a strong therapeutic alliance with the patient and/or family. Brandy began a nursing career in 2009 as a Registered Nurse (RN) and spent the next 10 years as a bedside nurse in emergency medicine, psychiatry (outpatient programs & inpatient hospitals), long-term intensive care units (ICU), step-down ICU/cardiac/telemetry, home-health, and hospice.

Christian Hudson-Wallis is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas with over 5 years of professional experience assisting clients of all ages to cope with the effects of anxiety, depression, anger, bipolar disorder, trauma, and PTSD. Christian is skilled in using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), humanistic techniques, Rogerian methods, existential therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), the Gottman Method, and acceptance and commitment (ACT) approaches.

Christian earned her Master's degree in Family Psychology from Hardin-Simmons University.  One of the main areas she usually touches on with clients is trauma, and how any trauma or negative life events may be holding them back from where they hope to be. Christian's main concern is making sure clients feel respected, safe, listened to, and trusting so they feel comfortable in opening up about what they are going through. She recognizes what a personal and scary process therapy can be.

Empathetic listening and compassion help Christian to delve into a client's world and be in the moment with them. Christian is there to remind you that whatever you are struggling with, you are not alone! No matter how frightening or embarrassing it may be to open up to a new person about personal things, she hopes to help you gain the skills and peace of mind you need to get through difficult times.
