Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I genuinely love meeting and working with all types of people and I love seeing people find solutions in their lives and improve the quality of their lives.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I've worked most with children but I've really enjoyed all ages I've worked with - children, teens, young, older, and senior adults.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I enjoy working with a variety of clients so I'm excited for all!
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
There's not usually just one right answer or solution to a problem. There are multiple approaches and many of them can be helpful.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I like the fact that clients can meet with a counselor from their home, workplace, even their car. It makes it much easier to participate in the counseling process.
What inspires you?
My family (especially my grandchildren), beautiful scenery/nature, books, animals, children, the Bible, music - so many things!
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Getting acquainted, two-way conversation, some questions about what they would like to accomplish in counseling, humor and laughing.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Beginning to reach a comfort level with each other and allowing the client to determine if I'm a good fit for their needs and personality.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I like to enjoy life and I believe that joy is a choice we can all make.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Play with my grandbabies and dogs, camping (in an RV, not a tent!), singing, reading.
What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am honest and don't lie to people to make them happy.
