Francis Segovia is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 14 years of experience. She is qualified to diagnose, provide psychotherapy, and prescribe medications to clients who need help managing symptoms. Francis supports individuals ages 12-65 dealing with anxiety, impulsivity, irritability, depression, insomnia, trauma, and obsessions/compulsions. Before moving into psychiatry, she spent 9 years as a registered nurse and 4 years as a licensed vocational nurse. Francis has worked at an inpatient psychiatric state facility in Texas, a 24-hour crisis phone line, and an outpatient crisis stabilization unit.
Francis completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of South Alabama. She is passionate about and takes pride in providing positive, holistic patient care free of judgment.

Why did you decide to become a psychiatric provider?
My passion has always been in mental health since I became a LVN. It gives me a great feeling when I see the progress and obstacles individuals overcome to succeed in life.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
Everything takes time, but once you find what works for you, life will be successful.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
To gain experience and make a difference to others who can’t seek treatment at a traditional setting.
What inspires you?
My parents. They gave me the strength to seek education and never give up on my goals since I was a child.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
For me to learn what works for them so we can develop a reasonable treatment plan.

To begin treatment that the individual is agrees to.
