Experience effective therapy with a counselor or therapist in Philadelphia

If you’ve never seen a counselor or life coach in the past, the decision to do so can seem weighty, if not overwhelming. Even if you have, there’s a chance that your previous experience included leaving voicemail after voicemail with counselor after counselor, and then waiting weeks before the counselor who accepts your insurance has an open session slot — and even then you had to arrange for time off work (or a sitter) so you could make the appointment.

At Thriveworks Philadelphia Counseling and Life Coaching, we understand that this process can be frustrating, so we created a new sort of therapy experience — one that aims to be as inviting, straightforward and efficient as possible. In addition, we staff our locations with the best coaches and counselors we can find, mental health professionals who recognize the uniqueness of each clients situation and create treatment plans tailored to each individual’s needs. Also, we have online therapy services available here at Thriveworks Philadelphia Counseling and Life Coaching.

Benefits of Seeing a Licensed Psychiatrist

Psychiatrists. Psychologists. Counselors. There are so many different types of mental and emotional health experts that it may seem difficult to differentiate between them.

What sets a psychiatrist apart from other mental health professionals is that they’re medically trained. Because of this training, a licensed psychiatrist can prescribe medications and offer medical services for illnesses and disorders that have physical symptoms.

Like other health providers, your psychiatrist may use a collaborative treatment technique. In addition to prescribing medications, they may suggest self-care tactics and perform different types of psychoanalytic therapy.

No two clients will receive the same exact treatment. To get started on your own mental health journey, schedule an appointment with a representative at Thriveworks Philadelphia Counseling and Life Coaching. After an initial assessment, your psychiatrist will be able to create a treatment plan that addresses your specific issue or concerns.

Why Do People Seek Therapy?

Perhaps one of the following situations resembles your life:

  • You’ve always been a fairly healthy and active person, but getting out to socialize or work out hasn’t happened in weeks, and you’re not sure why you’re so demotivated
  • You’re normally happy child has been struggling in school, seemingly for no reason
  • Professional success has always some easily, but you’re looking for an objective opinion on how you can take your career to the next level
  • A close friend passed away and you’re having trouble dealing with the grief

Our lives carry infinite potential for joys and for challenges, but regardless of what comes across our path, know that the therapists, counselors, and psychologists at Thriveworks Philadelphia Counseling and Life Coaching are skilled and experienced with working through the exact issues you’re going through. Schedule in-person or online counseling therapy today.

You can thrive. We can help.

Thriveworks helped me realize that I do believe people can change. I’m not the person I was three months ago, broken and fearful. I’m healthy and happy and for the first time being kind to myself. Thank you for giving me my life back.”

People pursue counseling often to rid themselves of hurt, but another way to look at it is as a way to seek and achieve balance. To live a life that is balanced and fulfilling, the entirety of a person must be considered. Yes, it is incredibly beneficial for you to get plenty of rest, exercise regularly and eat well to be physically healthy, but we must also address our mental wellness if we are to achieve balance.

Without balance, without a clear perspective, even simple decisions and tasks can overwhelm us.

Not everyone who seeks therapy is in pain. Many of our clients were genuinely happy, successful people even before they came to their first session. These people understand that there are always opportunities for growth, in life, and a counselor or coach can help reveal see a clear direction for moving forward.

Really, there is no limit to the number of valid reasons for meeting with a coach or therapist. Perhaps it’s because of relationship problems, anxiety, depression, or general low self-esteem. What’s important is that you understand that help is available. It’s not tragic to be suffering from a mood disorder or a troublesome relationship.

What’s tragic is going through these things alone and not making the simple decision that can dramatically improve your life.
