About
With over 20 years of experience, I have realized that life situations happen when you least expect it.
Leslie Middleton Walters, EdD, is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 26 years of experience in the mental health field. In times of death, divorce, financial issues, family relational problems, or any issue that brings about episodes of emotional unrest, Leslie believes that it is always best to reach out to someone that can assist with de-escalating fears and re-establishing hope, and provide encouragement to persevere during the dark times. Her primary goal is to help others face their challenges, fears, and become the person that they want to be through the development of lifelong coping skills, in an environment that is accepting and open to individualized thoughts and ideas.
Leslie completed both her Master of Science (MS) in Mental Health Counseling and her Master of Science (MS) in Guidance and Counseling at Fort Valley State University. She went on to complete her Doctor of Education (EdD) in Counseling Psychology at Argosy University. Through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques and other evidenced-based practices, Leslie assists those seeking a brand-new start to let go and accept their past so that they can invest in their future. While her degrees have provided her with the education to engage in expert counseling strategies, it has been Leslie's hands-on experience in helping others that has given her the emotional tools to help those take that first step to a new beginning.
It is because of these experiences, that my counseling practices are built upon a foundation of faith, hope, trust, perseverance, and the understanding that helping others is one of the greatest privileges of my life.

To paraphrase an old but true saying, “the only thing constant in life is change.” One thing that was left out is that change can often times be scary and hard. Just when we think things are going good, life has a way of throwing us a curve ball just to make things “interesting.” Whether you are experiencing difficulty with coping with changes related to your emotions, your relationships, your job, your health, or just life in general, counseling can help. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with approximately 12 years of experience with working with children, adults, families, and couples. I am proud to have an all-inclusive practice that serves clients and families of varying ethnicities, sexual orientations, socio-economic status, and other cultural backgrounds. I take pride in providing a comfortable and welcoming (yet always professional) environment where clients are encouraged to be open and honest. My primary goal is to help my clients to uncover their innate ability to adapt and thrive despite any challenges they may face. Common issues that I help with include depression, anxiety, self-esteem, anger management, relationship stressors, behavior issues, trauma and abuse, stress management, relational codependency, suicidal thoughts, and grief. I utilize a holistic/systems approach to counseling in order to understand the impact that a client’s mental, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being may have on the issues that they are facing. While I believe quality training is important, I also believe that it is just as important to find a counselor that is a good “fit.” I would the love the opportunity to see if I am a good fit to help assist you on your journey. With online counseling (within the state of Georgia), and 24/7 scheduling, you are just one mouse click/phone call of way, so…let’s HEAL together!

Christian counseling, otherwise known as biblical counseling, incorporates both one’s Christian faith and important principles of psychology. It aims to help people improve their overall mental health and work through their life challenges. This form of therapy uses both scriptures and teachings from the bible to help the individual better deal with their stressors.
When in the middle of a particularly stressful or otherwise difficult time in life, turning to one’s faith can prove to be just what the doctor ordered. In other words, our faith can help to remedy the hard times we are going through—say, in the midst of a tough loss; when we’re encountering problems in our relationships; when we’re experiencing an overwhelming amount of stress at work. This list goes on. The common denominator is the “medicine”: Christian counseling, as it can prove to help people through a myriad of issues.
As we just mentioned, Christian counseling can prove helpful in many different situations. Therefore, the goals can vary from person to person, depending on their unique situation, needs, goals, and so on. Here are some common goals of Christian counseling, of which you might be interested in:
These are just a few scenarios in which Christian counseling can prove beneficial. Also, there are many more goals one might have for their time in Christian counseling, depending on what they might be going through or what they need assistance with.
