Get to know Rebecca

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

My journey to becoming a counselor was inspired by the wonderful counselors I had in college and early adulthood who supported me as I worked through life’s struggles.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I currently serve clients 18+ years of age.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I enjoy working with clients who are ready to better understand themselves and make meaningful changes in their lives. Whether someone is facing a specific challenge or simply looking for personal growth, I’m excited to support them in their journey toward becoming the best version of themselves.

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?

My greatest hope for clients is that they understand they are never alone, and that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I chose to join Thriveworks, and continue to work here, because of the flexibility it provides and the positive environment that supports meaningful connections with clients.

What inspires you?

I’m inspired by the courage it takes for individuals to seek help and work through difficult experiences. Being able to support clients as they grow, heal, and move forward is what continually motivates me in this field.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment, with the first session dedicated to getting to know each other and ensuring I’m the right fit for their therapy journey.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I want to make sure we are a good therapeutic fit while also learning about the client’s goals for treatment and what led them to seek support.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

I want clients to know that I value honesty and that I am dedicated to helping them become the best version of themselves.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

During my time off, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and three year old daughter and reading thriller or mystery books.

What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

My desire to grow and be the best person I can be for myself and others is a core part of who I am. I know that when I take care of myself, I’m better able to care for and support those around me.
