About
I use coping skills such as deep breathing and exercise (especially walking) for recurrent anxious feelings. I try to inhale for about 5 seconds and exhale for 7 seconds- doing this technique helps my body shift toward a calmer state. I try to exercise 3 times a week for 30 minutes- during exercise, I talk positively to myself (e.g. I can do it. I'm strong). Using motivation helps me achieve my goals and reduces my anxious feelings.
My name is Fadeke Oladeji, and I am a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I earned my Master of Science in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from Walden University, and I am board certified and licensed to provide mental health care across the lifespan. I have experience caring for populations with a wide range of mental health conditions in outpatient clinics, community mental health, substance use clinics, primary care, and telehealth settings. Prior to obtaining my nurse practitioner license, I worked as a registered nurse in the emergency room, primary care, and mental health outpatient/inpatient settings.
As a PMHNP, I provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses (depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, insomnia, ADHD), medication management, patient education, and supportive care with evidence-based treatment.
I have a strong belief in treating individuals by considering biological, psychological, and social factors, partnering with patients on treatment plans that align with their goals. I'm committed to a safe, respectful, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard and supported. I look forward to collaborating with patients to achieve great outcomes.

Trust is important in building a relationship and the relationship you have with a therapist should include a genuine and positive regard for the client. Clients have to trust you before they can begin sharing their innermost struggles with a therapist.
Carol Jones-Pinckney is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Board Approved Supervisor in the state of Maryland. She has over 20 years of experience in the human services field working with various nonprofits but for the last 8 years provided therapy for children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples.
Carol applies a nonjudgmental, caring, strength-based, and integrative approach to therapy. Individualized assessments and treatment plans are key to achieving client goals. Carol maintains that collaboration, trust, and building a partnership are key ingredients to navigate through life’s struggles presented in therapy. Success is measured by how the client’s perception of the therapeutic process and engagement in sessions that work to achieve healthy and successful outcomes.
Therapeutic modalities utilized in therapy include but are not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, person-centered, couples therapy, and integrative interventions. The goal is to provide a caring and supportive environment for clients to feel comfortable sharing.
Carol recognizes that clients often feel vulnerable and reluctant to begin counseling. Her approach is very warm and inviting acknowledging that this was a big step but the right decision to share emotions and feelings with someone new. Therapy is at the client’s pace and being mindful of the support each client needs.

We’ve all heard the old adage that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. This is true not only for our children’s physical health, but their mental health too. Waiting until an issue starts affecting a child’s well-being, friendships, and school work, makes it more difficult to treat. Seeking help preventatively, or at the early signs of a problem, greatly increases the chances of raising a healthy, mentally strong child.
Thriveworks Baltimore child therapists know that a child who can identify, control, and communicate his or her emotions has an advantage over a child who cannot. A child who has a good grasp on their emotional literacy can relate to the feelings of the people around them and is better able to seek help when struggling with a problem. Conversely, a child who is unable to understand or express his or her emotions will act out as a reaction to what he or she is feeling. In those cases where children lack the vocabulary or developmental ability to explain their concerns, parents are left guessing what the problem might be.
Thriveworks Baltimore child therapists help take the guesswork out of the equation with their training and ability to assess what problems may already exist, and bolster your child’s emotional literacy for the future.
Boosting emotional literacy through talking to one of our counselors can also help your child achieve these benefits:
Whether your child already struggles with regulating and expressing his or her emotions, or you want to protect your child for the future, Thriveworks Baltimore child counselors can help. Effective communication and regulation skills are valuable not only in childhood, but in adulthood too. Fostering these skills early, before your child is exposed to the challenges and pressures of life, is an important key to long term success. Call our office to find out how we can increase your child’s emotional literacy and help protect them for the future.
If you think that your child could benefit from working with a mental health professional who has specific skills, training, and experience in working with kids, consider reaching out to Thriveworks Baltimore Counseling. The earlier the intervention the better. To schedule their first session, simply call our office. We’ll be happy to get your child all set up with one of our specialists. Know you will be able to choose between evening and weekend sessions, in-person and online care, and additional convenient options.
