She has experience working with individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, grief issues, forgiveness issues, and other life stressors.
Valerie is a graduate of the University of Memphis and has over 16 years of experience. She uses an eclectic approach in the therapeutic process with an emphasis on developing therapeutic rapport while using reality therapy, cognitive therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Valerie encourages, supports, and asks thought-provoking questions as the client identifies and explores life-changing issues.

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with over 12 years of experience helping individuals navigate trauma, grief, anxiety, life transitions, and identity-related concerns. I began my career supporting people affected by substance use disorders and have since expanded my work to include survivors of domestic violence, people experiencing chronic homelessness, severe mental illness, and other historically marginalized populations. I earned my master's degree in community counseling from Argosy University.
My approach is trauma-informed and collaborative, grounded in the belief that people are far more resilient than the challenges they've faced. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, distress tolerance skills, and psychodynamic approaches to meet each client's unique needs.
I know that healing is rarely a straight path. I strive to create a supportive, judgment-free space where you can explore fears, setbacks, and difficult emotions without shame. Whether you're processing trauma, managing anxiety, grieving a loss, or adjusting to a major life change, I'm here to help you move forward with greater self-understanding, confidence, and hope.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.
