David Koepnick is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 10 years of experience. He specializes in working with preteens, adolescents, and adults who struggle with ADHD, anger management, anxiety, behavior problems, depression, learning disorders, relationship issues, spirituality and faith-based issues, substance abuse, technology/gaming addiction, and trauma. David also has experience working with couples and families and in community-based counseling and assessment.
David has a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University. He uses approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, Logotherapy, person-centered therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, conjoint family therapy structured family therapy, and mindfulness-based methods.
David is passionate about helping clients meet their full potential by identifying unique strengths, addressing irrational thinking, and increasing personal effectiveness and communication. Marriage counseling works by helping couples identify and better navigate their unique challenges. Following an initial assessment of the couple in terms of strengths and needs, the therapist would then discuss their therapeutic goals and any possible approaches or ways of working together as therapist and couple.Couples attend sessions together, whether they meet in person or by video.
