About
I believe there is no one right way to live a good life, and therapy helps us learn what keeps us healthy, strong, and happy by helping us gain tools to cope with what we cannot control.
I am a registered clinical social worker intern (RCSWI) with 5 years of experience in the mental health field. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults across private practice, treatment centers, and community-based settings. I support individuals navigating stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, family challenges, and major life transitions, with a focus on helping clients feel more balanced and supported. My approach is caring, respectful, and strength-based, with an emphasis on setting clear, realistic goals and building practical skills for everyday life.
I earned my master’s degree in social work from the University of Georgia. I utilize evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness-based strategies, and motivational interviewing.
Beginning therapy takes courage, and I believe every person who enters therapy has the capacity to grow and heal with the right support. I strive to create a safe, collaborative space where we work together at your pace to foster self-acceptance, build healthy habits, and move toward meaningful change. You do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

Her prior experience as a pediatric and neonatal intensive care Registered Nurse (RN) has given her the ability to quickly establish empathy and rapport with her clients. Her counseling approach includes person-centered therapy (PCT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) solutions-focused therapy (SFT), sand tray therapy (STT), and play therapy (PT) along with other modalities. Heather believes we can find the solutions to many of our challenges within ourselves if we feel supported and empowered to do so. She believes her role is to meet her clients where they are and work with them in a safe and accepting environment to help them become their best selves. I subscribe to the humble notion that as a collective part of humanity, we are responsible for each other to a life-evolving degree; therefore, whatever we cultivate within ourselves should be selflessly shared for the betterment of those we are blessed to connect with in this lifetime.

OCD counseling is a specialized therapeutic approach aimed at supporting individuals coping with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The goal of this counseling is to help clients manage and alleviate the distressing symptoms of OCD by systematically addressing their obsessive thought patterns and compulsive behaviors.
In OCD counseling, Thriveworks West Palm Beach therapists use cognitive behavioral techniques, including exposure and response prevention, to assist you in addressing and managing your obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors. An OCD therapist will collaborate with you to identify and modify irrational thought patterns while gradually and gently exposing you to anxiety-triggering situations, helping to disrupt the cycle of obsessive-compulsive rituals and promote healthier coping strategies.
Thriveworks OCD counseling in West Palm Beach, FL is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The number of sessions for OCD counseling is variable, contingent upon the individual’s unique needs, the severity of their condition, and their progress during treatment. Typically, Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), commonly used for OCD, comprises around 12 to 16 weekly sessions, but the exact session count can be customized based on the individual’s response to treatment and therapeutic objectives. Some opt for a more extended duration to comprehensively manage symptoms and address complex issues.
