About
As a Registered Nurse and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I recognize how stress, anxiety and depression can be affected by an acute or chronic illness.
I’m an RN and LCSW with experience in community mental health, medical social work, and group therapy. I work with adults 18+ and seniors 65+ who are navigating life transitions, stress, anxiety, or simply need a supportive place to talk things through. I also provide therapy to those in the medical field, experiencing burnout and compassion fatigue. I am especially interested in clients facing eating disorders, grief and loss as well as looking at career change.
Clients describe me as approachable, caring, and practical. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing your story without fear of judgment. I use CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy, SFBT, solution focused brief therapy as well as a strengths based approach in therapy. I believe healing starts with being heard. In our sessions, you’ll have space to tell your story, share what brought you to therapy, and explore new perspectives.
My style is collaborative and supportive — I’ll help you reframe unhelpful thoughts, practice practical coping skills like journaling and mindfulness, and problem-solve to create realistic solutions for your future. I became a therapist after working as an RN for many years. I realized that I was interested in exploring a client's back story regarding stress. I am a dog lover, and also enjoy going to the gym, and watching documentaries.

As a licensed mental health counselor, I believe prioritizing your mental health is key to feeling more balanced and fulfilled in your life. With 25 years of experience, I work with adolescents, adults, families, and couples who are navigating anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. Many of my clients come in feeling overwhelmed, unable to turn off their mind, or stuck in racing thoughts that make it hard to relax or feel present. I believe therapy should be collaborative and tailored to your specific needs.
My practice focuses on evidence-based support like CBT for those navigating: Anxiety and Racing Thoughts: Helping you quiet the mind and find peace. Depression: Working through the fog to rediscover motivation and joy. Relationship Challenges: Enhancing communication and resolving conflicts. Stress Management: Developing tools to manage feeling overwhelmed.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Addiction Counselor with over 20 years of experience in behavioral health, working in both inpatient and outpatient settings with children, families, and adults. I have a passion for teaching and have had the privilege of supervising students and teaching at the Academy for Addiction Professionals. I typically work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, anger, bereavement, life transitions, and relationship challenges who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward.
My style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I tailor my approach to each person's needs, blending CBT, DBT, person-centered therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Internal Family Systems with a client-centered style. I believe there is no one right way to live a good life, and therapy helps us learn what keeps us healthy, strong, and happy by helping us gain tools to cope with what we cannot control.
I am a registered clinical social worker intern (RCSWI) with 5 years of experience in the mental health field. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults across private practice, treatment centers, and community-based settings. I support individuals navigating stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, family challenges, and major life transitions, with a focus on helping clients feel more balanced and supported. My approach is caring, respectful, and strength-based, with an emphasis on setting clear, realistic goals and building practical skills for everyday life.
I earned my master’s degree in social work from the University of Georgia. I utilize evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness-based strategies, and motivational interviewing.
Beginning therapy takes courage, and I believe every person who enters therapy has the capacity to grow and heal with the right support. I strive to create a safe, collaborative space where we work together at your pace to foster self-acceptance, build healthy habits, and move toward meaningful change. You do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

I subscribe to the humble notion that as a collective part of humanity, we are responsible for each other to a life-evolving degree; therefore, whatever we cultivate within ourselves should be selflessly shared for the betterment of those we are blessed to connect with in this lifetime.

My go-to approach for helping people in individual therapy is to listen to the reason they came to therapy and address those issues. I find the best benefit is helping a client with an issue affecting their current life because they will benefit from gaining back stability in their day-to-day life and can then move on to other things.
I teach the following tools in individual therapy:
I know a client is making meaningful progress in individual therapy when they are completing treatment recommendations such as assignments and practicing the tools they learn in sessions in their own environment.
Clients can supplement their time in individual therapy with reading material given and/or recommended to them in treatment, journaling, and doing an activity they enjoy.
To prepare for your first individual therapy session, remind yourself you are seeing a professional who is here to help you, and the best results come when you are honest. I also suggest sharing any concerns you have with the therapist.
Individual therapy, also known as Individual therapy, allows people to engage in private sessions with a skilled therapist, counselor, or psychologist. The core objective of individual therapy is to establish a secure and confidential setting where you can openly discuss whatever emotional, psychological, or behavioral challenges you face. Through these one-on-one sessions, the client and therapist work together to delve into, comprehend, and ultimately find solutions for the issues at hand in their life.
Individual therapy unfolds in a structured process, commencing with an initial assessment in which the therapist gathers essential information about your history, concerns, and objectives. Together, you and your therapist collaboratively establish specific, attainable goals for your sessions, which can encompass symptom alleviation, personal development, or finding solutions to particular challenges.
Yes, individual therapy, also known as Individual therapy, at Thriveworks can help you to improve your mental health and overall quality of life.
