About Dr Sabrina

My name is Dr. Sabrina Harris;I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC-FL) & Qualified Supervisor (QS-FL) with 20 years of clinical experience building trust and community alliances, serving a range of clients including children, adolescents, adults, families, couples, and seniors. I specialize in treating acute, chronic, and complex trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). I also assist with neurodevelopmental, mood, anxiety, psychotic, and personality disorders, as well as primary, secondary, and tertiary victimization, holistic wellness, and crisis recovery.

I earned my Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from National Louis University and my Master's of Counseling Psychology & Leadership from Palm Beach Atlantic University. My primary treatment integrations include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Intensive Trauma Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Strength-Based Therapy.

My therapeutic style is grounded in the concept of "360-degree healing," driven by evidence-based practices to include stabilization, emotional regulation, mind-body connections, somatic sensory functions, and relationship-centered care. My clients tout feeling expertly treated, supported, and well-equipped.

Get to know Dr Sabrina

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I am on divine assignment therapeutically, and I have come to understand that my counseling journey was intended for countless lives to be positively touched and changed forever because of my calling and willingness to make the necessary sacrifice.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I welcome a diverse client base with a committed focus on psychoeducation, stabilization, self-work, healing, recovery and positive change.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

If done correctly and intentionally, healing and functional evolving are restorative processes that should forever be in-progress.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

I meet my clients where they are, I embrace them fully, I strive to introductorily establish positive rapport while earning their trust, I educate them regarding the therapeutic process, I afford an opportunity for Q & A unwaveringly, I guide the clinical assessment and diagnosing processes, and then we venture actively into the client-therapist therapeutic process and get to work.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

Adoption, generational cycle breaking, trauma exposures, relational challenges, mastering self, grief and loss, in addition to personal and professional development.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I work collaboratively with my clients from start to finish especially during the pre-assessment, diagnosing and treatment planning phases to ensure all clinical bases are effectively covered with their beliefs and preferences respectfully factored.
