Having personally navigated loss, transitions, and life challenges, I offer an authentic perspective on how these experiences affect the mind, body, and spirit. I believe in the power of building new life skills to restore and strengthen the whole self."
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 11 years of experience providing compassionate care across diverse behavioral health settings. My background includes hospice and grief counseling, supporting adults and families through life’s most vulnerable transitions. I bring a culturally sensitive, intersectional approach to therapy, especially for those navigating identity, loss, or major life changes. My goal is to help clients gain clarity, emotional relief, and confidence as they work toward healing and transformation.
I earned my Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the University of Central Florida, where I also completed minors in Gerontology and Sociology. I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based therapy to create individualized, evidence-based care.
I meet clients where they are with compassion, curiosity, and collaboration. Whether coping with anxiety, depression, chronic illness, or self-esteem challenges, my approach is restorative and empowering. Therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating; it can be transformative, helping you reconnect with your purpose and inner resilience.

About Mary Lou
"As a child of immigrant parents (both from different countries), I understand some of the challenges that families face as they adjust to a new culture and different generations."
Mary Lou Macarius is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who specializes in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral issues, grief, parenting issues, school issues, stress, women's issues, and child therapy. She has more than 20 years of experience, working at institutions such as the Pacific Lutheran University Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic and Good Samaritan Behavioral Health Care Center, as well as in public schools serving students K-12th grade, working independently in Comfort Counseling. She also has experience serving individuals from six years old to 65 years old from her time at the Renton Counseling Center. She is a clinical member of The American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.
Mary Lou received a Bachelor of Social Work from Eastern Washington University and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University. She utilizes multiple treatment approaches including, but not limited to, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and structural family therapy. Mary Lou's dominant practicing theories are those of structural family therapy, which focuses on the ways in which families function and the changes that need to be made in the family structure to help them function more effectively, and solution-focused theory, which looks at the solutions that the client brings to therapy for coping with problems and builds on the client’s successes. She also likes to use some narrative therapy, which is focused on changing the way that you look at your life or problems.
Mary Lou is a trauma survivor and comes from an immigrant family, both of which influence the work that she does on a day-to-day basis. This, along with her clinical experience, allows her to support and understand her clients in unique ways.

About Ann
"As an ally of the LGBTQ community and a proud member of a multiracial family with African American, Korean, and Mexican heritage, I value diversity, inclusivity, and cultural understanding in both my personal and professional interactions."
I am a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) with 34 years of experience. I have spent my career serving vulnerable individuals, providing therapy for adults navigating depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and bipolar disorder. My background includes extensive work within community mental health systems, emergency departments, and community healthcare centers. I am passionate about supporting individuals experiencing serious mental health and crisis concerns.
I hold a master’s in social work from Michigan State University. My approach to care is holistic and strength-based, integrating cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. I tailor treatment to meet each person’s goals, empowering them to build resilience and achieve lasting wellness.
I find my work deeply fulfilling and am honored to witness the dedication clients put into their healing. I value collaboration, compassion, and authenticity in the therapeutic relationship and enjoy walking beside individuals as they rediscover balance, purpose, and hope on their journey to recovery.
