Starting Life coaching

What is Life coaching?

Life coaching is a personalized support system that helps individuals clarify goals, develop action plans, and navigate challenges. Coaches employ effective communication and active listening to assist clients in overcoming obstacles, unlocking their potential, and achieving personal growth for a more fulfilling life.

How does Life coaching work?

In life coaching, our coaches utilize diverse therapeutic techniques that are tailored to individuals, including cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, mindfulness, and positive psychology approaches. They also utilize active listening and empathetic communication to provide a supportive space for you to explore and achieve personal goals and overcome challenges, fostering personal growth and clarity.

Is Life coaching conducted in person or online?

Life coaching with our therapists in Portland, ME is conducted both in person and virtually via online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.

How long does Life coaching last?

The number of life coaching sessions someone attends can differ based on the coach and the client's choices. How many sessions are needed and how often they occur often hinges on the client's objectives and the complexity of their concerns. Some clients might opt for a few sessions to tackle particular goals or issues, while others may decide on ongoing coaching sessions to work on personal growth and life enhancement over a more extended period of time. Thriveworks Portland therapists work with clients to create goals and potential timelines for treatment.

Need more help deciding?

Each day there are obstacles that we need to overcome and life is filled with struggles. This is true no matter where you come from, who you are or how much money you may have. The details of your life are unique but there are many difficulties we share in common. Whether you are approaching retirement, or a student just coming into the job market, or a small business owner working out of home, you will be concerned about how to make the most of your life and how to overcome the daily trials of modern life.

One of the most common challenges we face is finding a balance between what we think we want and what we actually want. What we think we want is often dictated by stress and anxiety, but what we actually want can make us happier and more productive in the long run. A life coach at Thriveworks in Portland, ME can help you assess what you want and provide strategies for achieving this.

What Is Life Coaching?

One of the most common burdens we face is how to overcome self-doubt and make the most of each day. It can be as simple as getting out of bed in the morning and setting good habits in place to give that energy and confidence to meet the day. A life coach can help you to develop these strategies. With the help of a life coach you can:

  • Help to uncover what your true priorities are in life
  • Learn the best way to manage those priorities
  • Establish strategies and techniques to best achieve your goals
  • Remove the obstacles that are in your way.

A life coach offers you dedicated time and considered support to help you assess your wants, your goals, and what obstacles you need to overcome. It is not simply a case of meeting those challenges or of removing those obstacles; it is a case of becoming who you really want to be and making the most of each day.

My counselor was great and I adored him, he gets 5/5. I received my first billing statement on 1-16-24, the email saying I could pay in part or in full. I payed about a 3rd, and planned on doing the same for 2 more pay checks. Today, 1-31-24, I received an email thanking me for my payment. Their billing department withdrew the remaining balance, over $350 from my account without authorization. I only had $60 in that account. I work in private healthcare, and my practice would never collect without a clients knowledge and consent. If they won’t pay, we don’t use their stores info and take their money, we send to collections and let them do their job. I did try calling, auto it said wait time 20 minutes. I sent an email to their department at 1ish, didn’t hear anything back by end of business day.
