Starting Social isolation therapy

What is Social isolation therapy?

Social isolation therapy is a specialized form of therapy focused on helping individuals navigate the emotional challenges of isolation and loneliness. Thriveworks Orlando therapists create a supportive and understanding environment where clients can delve into the root causes of their loneliness and develop strategies to establish meaningful social connections.

How does Social isolation therapy work?

Social isolation therapy employs a multifaceted approach, utilizing Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques to reframe negative thought patterns, enhance communication, and improve social skills. It also incorporates interpersonal therapy to address relationship patterns, and mindfulness practices to manage feelings of loneliness and self-criticism.
Goal-setting is also encouraged to help you actively pursue social connections and community engagement. Through these techniques, social isolation therapy empowers individuals to overcome isolation, develop meaningful relationships, and enhance their overall emotional well-being.

Is Social isolation therapy conducted in person or online?

Social isolation therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.

How long does Social isolation therapy last?

Social isolation therapy can take different amounts of time. It depends on how isolated a person is and how they're doing in counseling. Normally, it involves many sessions that last from a few weeks to a few months. Thriveworks therapists in Orlando, FL will continue to provide care for as long as necessary to help clients meet their therapeutic needs.

Need more help deciding?

For many people, loneliness is one of the worst feelings they’ve ever experienced. While it’s hard enough when it comes on for a short period of time, prolonged loneliness can feel like a cycle that will never be broken. The good news is that if you’re in that situation there is hope: counseling can help. And we have loneliness therapy available now at Thriveworks Orlando Counseling. Contact our office to hear more or schedule your appointment!

Curing Your Loneliness

Anytime you go for counseling, it’s wise to keep your expectations in check. It’s unlikely that you’ll have a single session and be cured. Instead, your counselor will take the time to get to know you. They may suggest some steps you can take to help with your loneliness. For example, there may be a local group you can join or a long-lost friend you can rekindle a relationship with.

As you’re getting ready for counseling, it’s a good idea to understand what loneliness really is. It’s not just social isolation, since many people experience loneliness even when they’re not alone. Instead, loneliness is when the relationships you want in your life are not the ones you have in your life. Your counselor can help you understand what you want from a relationship and assist you in finding ways to get there.

Do You Suffer from Extreme Self-Focus?

It’s common for people who are lonely to suffer from extreme self-focus. Essentially, this means that they begin to believe that everything is about them. They may see two co-workers going out to lunch and assume they weren’t invited because their co-workers dislike them, when in fact there’s a good reason that has nothing to do with the lonely person. Counseling can help you better understand what’s going on in your head and how it compares to what’s going on in the world.

Personalized Help at Thriveworks Orlando Counseling

There’s plenty of advice about overcoming loneliness – and much of it is very useful. However, the truth is that you are unique. Your needs are unique. As a result, working with a counselor is the best way to get targeted advice about your specific needs. To schedule loneliness therapy, reach out to Thriveworks Orlando Counseling now!

Yeah, therapy is subjective so it's hard to rate a company based on one therapist encounter but I do have to include the company overall because it's essential to my comprehensive review. My therapist tried, was friendly and accommodating but just didn't work for me. The company overall is disjointed and maybe a little too big for proper management. You call a central number to get set up but when it comes to quitting the therapist it is up to you as the patient to do it all. Any attempt to log into the site gets redirected to an email link. The latest CSR I had unfortunately had a thick accent and was not really listening to me and my responses.

Hi I was a prior supervisor for Margaret in California where she did her post degree internship. She was a very skilled clinician who had many kids that were high-risk and lived in low-income families. Her relationship and interactive approach was very successful with these children and families. I was impressed with her skill and abilities. I would highly recommend her. Vicci
