Starting Sexual abuse therapy

What is Sexual abuse therapy?

Sexual abuse therapy helps victims heal from their abuse and trauma. Sex crime can take a number of forms, from the abuse of a child to the violent sexual assault of an adult. No matter what kind of experience you or a loved one has had, the trained providers at Thriveworks in Orlando, FL will be ready to get to work on helping you find a path toward a better future.

How does Sexual abuse therapy work?

Sexual abuse therapy works by helping victims process and move forward from their traumatic experience(s). In addition, it helps one address and manage any resulting mental health challenges from depression to stress, anxiety, poor self-image, unhealthy eating patterns, and more.

Is Sexual abuse therapy conducted in person or online?

Sexual abuse therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and via Online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.

How long does Sexual abuse therapy last?

For sexual abuse, counseling in Orlando often lasts for months to years. However, it can last longer or shorter, depending on the individual's unique needs.

Need more help deciding?

Victims of any crime should always have access to the help they need to recover from any physical or emotional damage that has been done. In the case of sexual abuse, that damage is often worst in emotional form, although there can certainly be physical injury as well. For help recovering from the emotional toll that a sexual abuse case has taken on your life, contact the team at our Thriveworks Orlando office today. Thriveworks Orlando Counseling has a number of therapy and counseling options for victims of sexual abuse, and we would be proud to help you recover from what has certainly been one of the most challenging times of your life.

Sexual abuse is such a serious crime in part because of the damaging emotional toll that it can take on its victims. Among the many issues that can be faced by those who have been victimized include the following:

  • Inability to focus at work, leading to loss of employment
  • Unhealthy eating habits highlighted by weight gain or weight loss
  • Anxiety, depression
  • Failure to maintain healthy personal relationships
  • Alcoholism
  • Drug dependency

The effects of sexual abuse will manifest themselves in different ways with different people, but the outcome is almost always negative until that individual gets the help they deserve. Seeking help through our Orlando sexual abuse recovery programs is a great way to work toward the future that you would like to live. There is no guarantee that any form of therapy or counseling will be successful, but taking action and turning to our professional staff is a great place to start. We will work hard to make sure that you get the help you need to recover from this traumatic experience.

Whether it is you or someone close to you that has been the victim of sexual abuse in or around Orlando, getting things moving back in the right direction once again can start with a simple phone call. Yeah, therapy is subjective so it's hard to rate a company based on one therapist encounter but I do have to include the company overall because it's essential to my comprehensive review. My therapist tried, was friendly and accommodating but just didn't work for me. The company overall is disjointed and maybe a little too big for proper management. You call a central number to get set up but when it comes to quitting the therapist it is up to you as the patient to do it all. Any attempt to log into the site gets redirected to an email link. The latest CSR I had unfortunately had a thick accent and was not really listening to me and my responses.

Hi I was a prior supervisor for Margaret in California where she did her post degree internship. She was a very skilled clinician who had many kids that were high-risk and lived in low-income families. Her relationship and interactive approach was very successful with these children and families. I was impressed with her skill and abilities. I would highly recommend her. Vicci
