I love solving problems together for my patients. I believe in providing the highest quality of care possible and seeing patients progress fulfils my passion. I care deeply about my patients.
I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 15 years of progressive experience in healthcare, spanning direct patient care, military medicine, and advanced psychiatric practice across diverse settings. I began my career as a certified nursing assistant, later serving nearly five years as a U.S. Army Healthcare Specialist/EMT at Fort Bragg. I went on to earn my BSN from UNC Pembroke and my MSN as a PMHNP from Vanderbilt University. I now provide trauma-informed, evidence-based psychiatric care across the lifespan in community, telehealth, and correctional settings.
I use a calm, trauma-informed, and collaborative style, combining careful assessment, clear psychoeducation, and evidence-based medication management. I focus on mood, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders, helping clients understand their symptoms, build hope, and make steady, realistic progress toward lasting emotional stability.
I understand that reaching out for help can feel overwhelming, and I strive to create a safe, respectful space where you never have to face your struggles alone. If you are ready to explore a path toward stability, healing, and renewed hope, I would be honored to support you in taking the next step.

As a person who has experienced trauma and loss, I truly understand how deeply life's challenges can shake us. I also know firsthand that developing new tools and coping skills is what allows us to reclaim our power and move forward.
Sometimes life can feel like you're running on a treadmill—moving constantly but staying in the exact same place. Hard or painful events can be a single, monumental moment or the quiet, cumulative weight of carrying too much for too long. A former colleague once said, "I might not be the one who caused the problems in my life but I'm the one who has to fix them." Therapy works best as a collaborative partnership built on radical compassion, zero judgment, and genuine human connection. I believe everyone possesses an innate capacity to heal, and it would be my privilege to help you rediscover yours.
My practice balances deep empathy with practical, evidence-based techniques. By blending CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and person-centered, trauma-informed care, we customize sessions to fit your unique needs. I specialize in supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, especially those navigating gender-affirming care, as well as adults with anxiety, depression, and/or trauma.
Healing isn't about erasing your past—it's about changing how the past lives in your present. I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey. Together, we will create a space where you can move out of survival mode and step into a life rooted in safety, resilience, and genuine peace. Let's figure out how to get you moving again, together.

Anxiety therapy helps people better understand and manage their anxiety. Anxiety therapists at Thriveworks in , NC can develop a treatment plan that will help you better manage your day-to-day anxiety or your anxiety disorder.
Anxiety therapy involves talking to a therapist about symptoms, potential causes, and more. Thriveworks therapists will then work with you to determine where your anxiety might stem from and teach you effective coping mechanisms.
One of the best ways to deal with anxiety is to learn about your own anxiety: your symptoms, what triggers it, and what coping mechanisms have been effective in the past. When you learn what your anxiety is tied to, it can help you be mindful of what’s really happening as well as prevent and mitigate symptoms by processing and working through the issue in therapy. Other strategies that have been shown to help manage anxiety are meditation, challenging anxious thoughts, exercising, and journaling.
Common symptoms of anxiety include:
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) can be incredibly effective in treating anxiety and anxiety disorders. Other effective techniques include exposure therapy, Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and EMDR therapy.
Anxiety therapy is conducted both in person and online, depending on the individual’s preferences and their therapist’s availability. We suggest choosing the option that best suits your needs.
On average, people can tend to attend 15 to 20 session of anxiety therapy (five or more months). However, this number is heavily dependent on the type of anxiety that’s being treated and its severity, with many choosing to attend anxiety therapy for a longer period of time to ensure its effectiveness long-term.
Yes, it is worth going to therapy for anxiety. If you are struggling with regular anxious thoughts and feelings that are affecting your day-to-day life or you suspect that you have an anxiety disorder, you should seek expert anxiety help.
