Get to know Krystal

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I decided to become a counselor as a result of wanting a better understanding of my own personal challenges and experiences and my growing desire to assist others

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work well with individuals that are at least 14 years old

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I am most excited about working with clients that deal with problematic symptoms of anxiety, depression and ADHD

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

Therapy is a process that promotes healing, growth and understanding; therapy will not fix things overnight but it will make life more manageable so that you can fix the areas in you life that you find problematic

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I want to return to direct care, working more with clients individually

What inspires you?

I receive daily inspiration by being able to assist others in achieving personal goals that they once saw as impossible is

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Clients can expect a gathering of treatment related information during our first session, this information will be used to help therapist in having a better understanding of the goals, challenges and barriers of the person receiving services

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I like to create a realistic "blueprint" for how to accomplish goals that are important to you and your daily level of functioning

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

I am human, just like you, I hold no room for judgement! I am here to assist you in achieving the goals that you want to achieve!!

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

For fun and time off, I enjoy not having to plan, think or follow an itinerary. I will block 1-2 days per month to enjoy time to myself, doing what I want to do when I want to do it.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

I pride myself in being "uniquely me", I have learned to fully embrace myself flaws and all which makes it much easier for me to deal and cope other challenges in my daily life.
