Starting Christian counseling in Atlanta

What is Christian counseling?

Christian counseling in Atlanta is a form of faith-based counseling that utilizes psychological and spiritual techniques to guide and support. Often, Christian counselors often incorporate prayer and scripture-reading into treatment to help practicing Christians work through their challenges.

How does Christian counseling work?

Christian counseling works by focusing on themes of hope and healing through one’s faith. At Thriveworks, your Christian counselor will discuss Christian values and relate them to your unique struggles. You can expect to discuss the following with them:

  • Your Christian identity
  • Your relationship with God
  • What the bible says about your current challenges
  • How you can overcome your struggles in a way that aligns with your faith
  • How to channel your religion in a way that helps you heal

Is Christian counseling conducted in person or online?

Christian counseling at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and via Online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.

How long does Christian counseling last?

Christian counseling can last for a few weeks, months, or longer. It depends on what challenges the client might be working through, the severity of those challenges, as well as other needs or preferences.

Bryce does a great job listening to my concerns and providing constructive feedback. He reinforces when I'm right, but doesn't hesitate to let me know in a non-offensive way when there are areas that I could improve in. I can confidently say that working with him has greatly contributed to improving my mental health.

The Doctor has solved my sleeping issues. My lack of sleep was terribly debilitating and I am quite happy where I am today. I wouldn't know how you could make that better.

As a teacher, my wife has been having a rough go with the start of the new school year. She had a video she posted to her close friends yesterday about if they were going through similar if they needed to talk to her, feel free to reach out because sometimes you just need someone to talk to. While our communication between the two of us is great, the heart of the matter she was getting at and offering for her friends resonated as I watched her say it and resonated further with my experience today. Even though today was mostly about getting things set up for a baseline, it felt like a positive experience and movement in a better, more positive direction.
