Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I chose to become a counselor to give back and help others. In the Army, we mentor, support, and develop future leaders—and that spirit of service and growth inspired me to continue helping people navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and move forward with strength and purpose
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who are seeking change—even if they’re not quite sure where to begin. Whether you're motivated and ready or feeling hesitant and unsure, I provide support, education, and practical tools to help you understand the counseling process and move toward your goals at your own pace.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I’m excited to work with all types of clients—even those unsure about counseling at first. I especially enjoy supporting individuals who are open to learning, exploring new perspectives, or stepping slightly outside their comfort zone in pursuit of growth and change.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that counseling is not one-size-fits-all—finding the right fit matters. You deserve a space where you can be honest about your needs, feel safe to grow, and know that it's okay to speak up if something isn’t working.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because it allows me to connect with a diverse range of clients while offering the flexibility to support them both in and outside the office. I value the opportunity to meet people where they are—literally and emotionally.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by the courage it takes to face fears and challenges—and by the power of learning to communicate openly, without shame, about how you feel and what you need.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In our first session, we’ll go over some basic paperwork, but more importantly, we’ll begin getting to know each other. My goal is to create a comfortable, welcoming space where you feel safe to share and explore at your own pace.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In our first session, I aim to build a strong foundation of trust by helping the client understand what counseling is, what it isn’t, and how our partnership can work to support their goals. It's about creating clarity, collaboration, and comfort from the start."
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling, clients should know that I value consistency and open communication. I ask that they consider what they hope to gain from counseling and be prepared to commit to a regular schedule that supports their progress.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Outside of work, I’m a mom and a commander in the Army Reserve. For fun, I enjoy running, biking, and swimming—anything that gets me moving. I also love to write and am working toward publishing a book someday.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I believe in second chances and that everyone is special and unique—even if it doesn’t always look the same on the outside.
