About
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner who has walked alongside people facing trauma, instability, and complex mental health needs, I approach care with deep empathy and a commitment to meeting you exactly where you are.
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 8 years of experience supporting individuals across a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns. I work with clients experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders, and significant life transitions. Many clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, and I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space to help them gain clarity, stability, and a path forward.
I earned my Master of Science in nursing from Walden University. My approach integrates evidence-based medication management with a collaborative, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and holistic perspective. I tailor treatment to each individual’s unique needs and goals while prioritizing safety, understanding, and empowerment throughout care.
Seeking support can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate these challenges alone. I am here to walk alongside you with compassion, patience, and respect. Together, we will work toward relief from symptoms, improved coping skills, and meaningful, lasting change when you are ready to begin.

As a Registered Nurse and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I recognize how stress, anxiety and depression can be affected by an acute or chronic illness.
I’m an RN and LCSW with experience in community mental health, medical social work, and group therapy. I work with adults 18+ and seniors 65+ who are navigating life transitions, stress, anxiety, or simply need a supportive place to talk things through. I also provide therapy to those in the medical field, experiencing burnout and compassion fatigue. I am especially interested in clients facing eating disorders, grief and loss as well as looking at career change.
Clients describe me as approachable, caring, and practical. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing your story without fear of judgment. I use CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy, SFBT, solution focused brief therapy as well as a strengths based approach in therapy. I believe healing starts with being heard. In our sessions, you’ll have space to tell your story, share what brought you to therapy, and explore new perspectives.
My style is collaborative and supportive — I’ll help you reframe unhelpful thoughts, practice practical coping skills like journaling and mindfulness, and problem-solve to create realistic solutions for your future. I became a therapist after working as an RN for many years. I realized that I was interested in exploring a client's back story regarding stress. I am a dog lover, and also enjoy going to the gym, and watching documentaries.

As someone who has worked in behavioral health for 30+ years and parent to a young person with mental health concerns, I am knowledgeable about a wide variety of concerns and familiar with the personal challenges of navigating the systems of care in our community as well as life itself.
As a therapist, I focus on building relationships grounded in trust, empathy, and collaboration. I strive to create a safe environment where clients can strengthen coping skills and heal from past trauma. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years of experience working with children, youth, and young adults facing anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, autism, and other developmental disabilities. My experience includes roles as a behavioral specialist, therapist, and school social worker.
I use a person-centered approach while incorporating cognitive-behavioral techniques. As a licensed trauma specialist, I understand our past experiences can impact our present—and I believe the brain continues to grow and adapt, making healing possible. Although the work can be challenging, we will build the tools and resilience needed for healing together.
I believe growth, self-compassion, and healing matter more than perfection. I look forward to working with you as you take meaningful steps toward healing and growth. Reaching out for support can be difficult, but you've already taken the first step. I invite you to schedule a time for us to connect and determine whether I am the right fit for your journey.

As a motherless daughter who has walked the path of early loss and trauma, I offer a warm, seasoned heart to help you turn your deepest hurts into a lasting source of resilience and hope.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with experience helping individuals on their path to healing. My career began living in a tent and working as a lay therapist at an outdoor psychiatric hospital for adolescents. This experience, combined with growing up in a rural area during a time of family illness and the early loss of both my mother and father, deeply informs the perspective I bring to my work today. I typically work with individuals and families navigating trauma and addiction, women processing the grief of being Motherless Daughters, and those in the aging process seeking to integrate a lifetime of experience.
My style is supportive, relational, and grounded, born from years of witnessing the resilience of the human spirit. Whether you need structured CBT skills, Internal Family Systems (IFS) work, or deep grief processing, I provide a warm, intuitive space to co-create your wellness plan. I am passionate about helping you reclaim a sense of hope and possibility.
I approach my practice with curiosity and a genuine love for people (and dogs). Healing is a profound and rewarding labor, and it would be my privilege to support you through it. You deserve a space where you can finally be heard without judgment. If you are ready to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be, I welcome you to reach out.

Child therapy, also known as counseling for kids, helps young individuals better understand and manage the challenges that affect their mental health. Common challenges amongst kids include behavioral issues, trauma, bullying, depression, and anxiety. All ages of children can attend and benefit from child therapy at Thriveworks Rio Rancho.
Child therapy works by using multiple techniques tailored to fit the child’s needs based on their age group, their challenges, and the severity of their challenges. It might involve play therapy for younger kids or cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, art therapy, and others for varying ages. In any case, Thriveworks child therapists in Rio Rancho, NM have the expertise and experience to help kids at their level.
Child therapy is a type of therapy meant for clients within a specific age group, while play therapy is an approach to therapy that helps children with self-expression and stress relief, among others. Play therapy is a technique that is often used in child therapy to help children express what’s running through their minds when they do not have the words to express their thoughts and emotions. It can get children to express what’s wrong, what might be causing unwanted behaviors, or what they might need in a way that is accessible to them so that therapists can then work to treat the issue.
It’s not always obvious when a child should see a therapist for their behavior, though in the midst of challenges like divorce, loss, bullying, and other mental health conditions, it’s often a good idea to seek it out. Common behaviors that can indicate a need for child therapy include separation anxiety, bedwetting (at inappropriate ages), and agitation/excessive irritability — especially if it reaches a point of physical violence.
Cognitive behavioral therapy at Thriveworks in Rio Rancho, NM is one of the best types of therapy for children. However, it can be administered in child therapy sessions in a variety of ways that are more accessible to young minds, such as play therapy.
Child therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The length of child therapy depends on your child’s needs as well as the goals that you and their therapist might have for them. Generally, child therapy sessions will last for several months.
