Mikela Rae Bowers is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has over 10 years of experience in mindfulness-based practices and therapies. Mikela works with those experiencing deep suffering due to life's ever-changing nature. From parenting teenagers to divorce or grief over the death of a loved one, Mikela offers therapies to facilitate healing the anxieties, depression, and traumas often accompanying these life events. Mikela completed her Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling Psychology at Texas A&M University. Surviving two divorces and a graduate program while also being the sole breadwinner for herself and her daughter, Mikela understands the many arrows thrown particularly at single women in our culture. As a veteran, mom, professional, divorcee, and trauma survivor, she is in a great place to help with many life transitions, anxieties, and slaps-in-the-face we all encounter along the way. A lifelong seeker of peace, Mikela has learned to cultivate it even in the worst of circumstances. She also humbly maintains a keen awareness of the thieves of peace constantly berating us all. Mikela utilizes collaborative, mindfulness-based, cognitive, spiritual, and emotional approaches to therapy, always maintaining awareness and flexibility to adapt to each individual or couple's needs.
