As a counselor with over 20 years of experience and as a person who has struggled with anxiety and depression, I am passionate about helping others reach their goals as they work toward increased mental and emotional well-being.
I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC) with 28 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, college students, adults, and couples. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral concerns, and relationship challenges. I strive to create a supportive, affirming environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
I earned my master’s degree in agency and community counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University. My clinical approach is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered therapy, helping clients understand how thoughts and behaviors influence emotions while building insight, resilience, and meaningful change.
I believe therapy works best when clients feel safe, validated, and genuinely understood. Amy Medlin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience assisting individuals with a variety of diagnoses, including PTSD/trauma, depression, anxiety, mood and adjustment disorders, couples counseling, LGBTQIA+ and gender issues, personality disorders, and psychosis. Amy stresses the development of interpersonal and distress tolerance skills to learn to regulate emotions and helps clients to identify triggers that lead to negative cognitions, thought patterns, and behavioral responses. Amy recognizes the importance of creating a positive sense of self-worth to find balance with work, family, and self-care.
Amy completed her Master of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She collaborates with clients and adjusts her treatment to best meet the needs of each individual. She focuses on a mix of solution-focused reality therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectal behavior therapy.

Dominique Correa is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over 5 years of experience. On average, couples attend marriage and couples counseling for 12 weeks. However, couples & marriage counseling may last longer or shorter, dependent on the couples’ needs, the challenges they’d like to work through, and the pace of their progress.
At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state.
