She specializes in depression, anxiety, relationship issues, coping skills, and self esteem Christian is passionate about working with adults from all walks of life. Christian realizes her patients are the experts in their life and she wishes to walk along side as they tell their story.
Christian completed her Master's degree in Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She has worked in a vast variety of mental health settings with diverse mental health diagnosis. Christian values cultural diversity, self acceptance, and body positivity. Christian utilizes multiple treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solutions-focused therapy (SFT), psychodynamic therapy, faith-based therapy (FBT), family therapy, and more.
Christian recognizes that her patients are the experts of their story and she wishes to assist them while they tell their story. She allows her clients to lead while following behind them with support, unconditional acceptance, and new perspectives. Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I wanted to fight the stigma that surrounds mental health. My goal is to normalize therapy and normalize mental health so that people get the help they deserve to become their best self and achieve their goals.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients motivated to achieve their goals.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
You deserve a safe space to discuss your fear, stressors, and goals. Taking care of your mental health is taking care of your overall health.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by individuals that take accountability for their goals and healing. Growth is achieved through insight, accountability, and self acceptance.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
I want a personable relationship with my clients. I will ask questions to get to know you outside of what brings you into therapy. I will also allow space for you to ask questions about me so you feel comfortable in session.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy spending time with my dogs and husband. I love to try new restaurants and watch movies!
