I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 15 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care. I work with children ages 10 and older, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, mood disorders, trauma, and psychotic disorders. I earned my master’s degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama. My approach is collaborative, individualized, and compassionate, with a focus on understanding each client’s full experience, strengths, and goals. I provide thoughtful evaluations, clear education, and treatment planning that may include medication management and supportive care.
Seeking mental health care can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I strive to meet clients with respect, understanding, and support while helping them improve emotional well-being and daily functioning. I would be honored to support you as you take the next step toward healing and growth when you feel ready.

As an experienced Psychiatric Provider, I understand that your treatment goals are important, and I will work closely with you to achieve your goals.
Hello! My name is Sherry McCoy and I am an ANCC certified Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist. I have been working in this role since 2011. Prior to 2011, I spent many years working as an RN. I treat patients with depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, grief, and many other psychiatric issues. I enjoy helping people achieve the best possible version of themselves! When I see a new patient for the first time, I like to get to know them. I ask questions both about your history, and your future treatment goals in order to help you identify the most appropriate treatment plan possible.
I believe that your treatment plan should reflect both where you are currently, and where you would like to be in the future. I will do my best to help you achieve your goals!
Everyone should have the opportunity to be the best version of themselves possible. I would be honored to work with you to achieve your personal treatment goals. If you are ready to begin this journey, please schedule an appointment and we will get started as soon as possible.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

OCD counseling is a specialized therapeutic approach aimed at supporting individuals coping with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The goal of this counseling is to help clients manage and alleviate the distressing symptoms of OCD by systematically addressing their obsessive thought patterns and compulsive behaviors.
In OCD counseling, Thriveworks Loveland therapists use cognitive behavioral techniques, including exposure and response prevention, to assist you in addressing and managing your obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors. An OCD therapist will collaborate with you to identify and modify irrational thought patterns while gradually and gently exposing you to anxiety-triggering situations, helping to disrupt the cycle of obsessive-compulsive rituals and promote healthier coping strategies.
Thriveworks OCD counseling in Loveland, CO is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The number of sessions for OCD counseling is variable, contingent upon the individual’s unique needs, the severity of their condition, and their progress during treatment. Typically, Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), commonly used for OCD, comprises around 12 to 16 weekly sessions, but the exact session count can be customized based on the individual’s response to treatment and therapeutic objectives. Some opt for a more extended duration to comprehensively manage symptoms and address complex issues.
