Amanda Wickett, Psy.D
Philosophy of Care
Amanda M. Wickett is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with 18 years of clinical experience in the field and a passion for holistic, humanistic, and patient-centered care. She was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and completed her graduate training at the University of Indianapolis in 2004. She is trained as a generalist and has worked with individuals from ages five and up, presenting with a wide range of mental health conditions, cultural backgrounds, and life challenges. She works best with clients who are motivated to better understand themselves and willing to consider ways to improve their quality of life through thoughtful exploration and mutual discovery.
Dr. Wickett’s therapeutic style is authentic, engaging, empathic, collaborative, and non-judgmental. She believes in treating all persons as complex and with dignity and respect while emphasizing the importance of autonomy. She celebrates each client’s individual complexity and has extensive experience working with individuals who have been exposed to traumatic stress across their lifespan.
Seeking treatment requires courage and willingness to consider ways to move toward change to improve life quality and decrease emotional suffering. Although life involves suffering, Dr. Wickett believes that needless emotional suffering is unnecessary and nonterminal.
