About
I am inspired by the resilience of the human spirit. As Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, "What lies before you and what lies behind you are tiny matters compared to what lies WITHIN you." I strive to help clients realize how much potential they have within them to face and overcome the difficulties of life.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with 10 years of experience, and more than 6 years of experience working as a therapist. Prior to working as a professional counselor, I provided clinical case management to individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues in a variety of settings. I am passionate about helping individuals who are striving to overcome issues like depression, anxiety, life transitions, anger, self-destructive behavior (substance use, self-sabotage, etc.), and existential crises.
I completed my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University and my Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Marquette University. I take a strength-based approach with each client, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) in my care.
As a counselor who has been influenced by the work of Dr. Viktor Frankl, I place emphasis on helping clients to create meaning in the midst of difficult circumstances in order to turn tragedies into triumphs. If you are ready to explore how you can best respond to your current challenges, schedule an appointment with me today.

With Thriveworks, Online therapy is an effective alternative to in-person therapy services in which a client can speak to a Thriveworks therapist remotely via online video conferencing. Online sessions are just as effective as in-person treatment, but they can also provide added benefits like reduced travel time, saving money on transportation or childcare, and increased access to care.
Online therapy works much like traditional in-person therapy but takes place through secure video conferencing. Clients can attend Online therapy from any safe place they choose that has access to the internet, whether that be their home or another easily accessible place. Like in-person treatment, a therapist will work with their client to address their concerns, create goals, and establish an effective treatment plan.
There is no best option for online therapy—instead, it’s best to focus on finding a provider that meets your specific needs and with whom you can form a professional connection with.
Yes, online therapy is just as effetive for many clients as in-person sessions.
Online therapy can last for a few months to years depending on the goals and symptoms of the client. The treatment process will be unique to each client and lend itself to their specific concerns, which means that the time it takes to treat them will always be different. Timing is also up to the client themselves; they are free to stop therapy whenever they please, especially if they feel they have reached their goals and addressed their concerns.
At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.
Your mental health is a crucial part of living your best life. It impacts every other part of your life –– your job, your relationships, and your self-image. If you’re struggling with a mental health issue, you know how difficult it can be. Speaking with a therapist or counselor can help you find more balance and calm in your life. Unfortunately, scheduling an appointment can sometimes be difficult.
There are a lot of people who want to talk to a mental health professional but other things in their lives keep them away. Things like:
Thankfully, there’s a solution for these types of problems: online therapy. Our licensed counselors and therapists work with clients remotely with the same quality of care they provide clients in a face-to-face office setting. Also known as online counseling, online therapy gives you the chance to get professional care from the comfort of your home.
Working with a licensed mental health professional can help you reach your goals and find a sense of mental peace. If you’d like to schedule an appointment, call us today at Thriveworks Counseling in Chicago, IL.
Online therapists work with clients on a wide variety of mental health issues. Most types of traditional therapy are offered online too, including:
Most therapy sessions are talk-based so they easily translate to a remote environment. In fact, many of our clients prefer online therapy over in-person therapy because it helps them fit mental health care into their busy schedules.
Do you want support with a mental health issue? Consider reaching out to us at Thriveworks Counseling in Chicago, IL. Our team of highly trained professionals can help you get the support you’re looking for.
Online therapy is very similar to face-to-face therapy –– the biggest difference is that it takes place online. The rest of the therapeutic process mostly follows the same format you could expect in an office environment.
To start, you’ll meet your therapist or counselor to discuss your mental health symptoms and any goals you have for your treatment. Then they’ll develop a unique treatment plan with your needs in mind. Over the course of future sessions, you’ll learn more about your symptoms and how to manage them. You may develop stress-reduction habits, learn ways to reframe harmful thought patterns, and identify ways to improve your relationships.
Many of our clients love online therapy over traditional therapy because it helps them be more comfortable throughout the entire process. You have complete control over where each session takes place, so you can choose a space that’s comfortable for you. Maybe that’s in your bed, outside on a nice day, or next to the fireplace –– whatever you’d prefer. Being comfortable throughout your sessions is very important because most therapy is based around an honest dialogue with your provider. If you’re feeling comfortable and open, you’re more likely to make progress.
Do you want to see a therapist or counselor but feel like life keeps getting in the way? With online therapy, scheduling a session with a licensed professional has never been easier. We also offer evening and weekend sessions to help you find a convenient time for mental health care. You can also get started quickly –– many of our new clients can often meet with a provider within the week of scheduling.
We want to make sure mental health services can fit into your life, so we provide more than just convenient online appointments. We also accept many major health insurance plans. Working with an online therapist can put you on the path to a better state of mind. Contact us at Thriveworks Counseling in Chicago, IL to schedule your first appointment.
