Christina Cano is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a passion for patient centered, culturally diverse and holistic care. Christina began her journey into the mental health care field working for Fairfield County’s top Behavioral Health Centers; including Stamford Hospital, Hartford Healthcare and Yale New Haven Hospital, in which she was the charge nurse of several inpatient psychiatric units. Over the years, Christina has had the opportunity to provide treatment for individuals who suffer from a wide variety of acute and chronic mental health illnesses in multiple psychiatric settings amongst long-term care, dual-diagnosis, outpatient, home care, and case management.

With Christina coming from a family of health care professionals specializing in the field of psychiatry, education and mental health care has always been a great passion of hers. In 2013 she obtained her bachelor’s degree from Sacred Heart University and through her years of experience at the bedside, she became aware of the immense need for mental health clinicians. Christina also discovered the heavy impact of psychiatric providers in healthcare, which lead her to pursue a master’s degree at Fairfield University as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2018.

Christina believes in affording her patients with dignity, compassion, and respect by offering coordinated and personalized care, support, or treatment. She takes pride in supporting her patients in recognizing and developing their own strengths and abilities to enable them to live an independent and fulfilling life. Rodolfo Rosado, Ph.D., Psychologist

Philosophy of Care

As a scientist, practitioner, and healer my work primarily emphasizes alleviating suffering for the people I serve. This involves an initial assessment to understand underlying causes. Some difficulties stem from biological phenomenon, while other problems result from life experiences or socio-political toxins. Usually the causes involve a combination of factors.

An initial assessment helps identify problems and weaknesses, as well as strengths and capabilities. We focus on addressing problems and weaknesses, while highlighting strengths as the foundation of a treatment plan. An individual's personal resources help them cope and function, as all as address other difficulties that they will face in life.

In some cases Psychological Evaluations are recommended for children or adults when more extensive examination and detailed information is needed.
All services are provided in Spanish and English. Areas related to spiritual belief are also recognized as fundamental characteristics.

Tiffani Olenik, LCSW

Philosophy of Care

Tiffani Olenik is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in NY & CT who has 7 years experience working with children, parents and school professionals. Her methodology seeks to develop and support healthy social-emotional development and wellbeing in children. Tiffani uses a strength-based approach; focusing and building upon what is working well for each individual and helping the child overcome current life challenges.

She specializes in helping young children with stress and anxiety by helping them learn coping skills to manage feelings and conflicts they may face at home and at school. Quite often she’ll partner with children, parents and their teachers to help build positive caregiver-child relationships and help uncover the meaning behind children’s behaviors. Doing so helps find the most effective individualized solutions.

Tiffani believes in the importance of positive, safe and nurturing relationships. Through a gentle and non-judgmental communication approach she strives to help young children and adults feel empowered to learn new skills and uncover strengths to overcome life stressors.
