About
I believe in creating a supportive and collaborative space where people of all ages can feel understood, empowered, and equipped to navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 12 years of experience providing care across outpatient, intensive outpatient, in-home, and telehealth settings. I support children, adolescents, adults, parents, families, and older adults. My background includes crisis work and treating concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, mood disorders, family conflict, autism spectrum differences, grief, addiction, and life transitions.
I earned my master’s in clinical mental health counseling from Southern Connecticut State University. My experience includes community and clinical work supporting individuals with trauma, PTSD, OCD, and conduct disorders. I use cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, play-based, creative, and therapeutic-gaming approaches.
I aim to offer a culturally sensitive, collaborative environment where you feel valued and supported. Together, we will identify your strengths, develop effective coping skills, and explore new perspectives that bring clarity and relief. My goal is to help you move toward meaningful growth and create lasting change in your daily life.

My approach to helping couples is to assure them that I am impartial. I never have individual sessions with partners because I would like everyone to have all the same information.
Couples' work is individually based primarily on understanding what is getting in the way of a successful relationship. I believe it is important for everyone to truly understand themselves and their partner. Without this information, people can get into arguments over issues without taking how their partner thinks and what they need into consideration.
Most couples express the progress they are making and share specific tools they have found helpful.
I have couples do a variety of tests early on to help them understand and accept similarities and differences.
The only preparation couples need to do is to bring their concerns and what they would like to improve.
Thriveworks Couples therapy helps couples work through their specific relationship issues. It is led by licensed professionals — often licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) — who are experts in their field and best-equipped to help couples. Some examples of common focuses within couples therapy include:
Couples therapy works by helping couples identify and better navigate their unique challenges. Following an initial assessment of the couple in terms of strengths and needs, the therapist would then discuss their therapeutic goals and any possible approaches or ways of working together as therapist and couple.Couples attend sessions together, whether they meet in person or by video. In addition to regular couples therapy sessions, each partner may also be asked to attend a few individual sessions to supplement their progress. This will allow their counselor to get to know each individual better, assess each of their personal needs, and develop the very best treatment plan moving forward.
Couples therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and via Online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you and your partner.
On average, couples attend couples therapy for 12 weeks. However, couples therapy may last longer or shorter, dependent on the couples’ needs, the challenges they’d like to work through, and the pace of their progress.
There are so many different reasons to seek out the help of a couples therapist. Jealousy, lack of trust, and different visions of the future are all common reasons. Couples counselors are experts at helping couples overcome the challenges they face and work towards a healthier, more open relationship. If you think that you and your partner would benefit from speaking with a professional, consider partnering with a couples therapist at Thriveworks Counseling in New Haven, CT.
Couples therapy can benefit every committed couple, regardless of age, background, or how long you have been together. Many couples put off seeking the help of a counselor because one partner may not be ready, they might feel ashamed, or they didn’t know it could actually help. However, there is no reason to put off seeking the support you need to work towards overall happiness.
A few specific relationship issues that are often discussed in couples counseling include:

In addition, they will be able to see what concerns you have as individuals and how to work together to conquer them. We understand that every situation is unique. That’s why we personalize treatment plans for all of our clients.
