As a woman of color who has experienced loss of loved ones, I have an understanding of the process of grief and the importance of forgiveness and having a support system.
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 4 years of experience working with outpatient mental health settings. I support adults, children, couples, and seniors navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief. Many of the individuals I have worked with felt emotionally uncertain about their future and are looking for tools to promote healing and build interpersonal relationships to move forward on their personal journey.
I earned my master's degree in social work from Walden University. I adhere to evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and trauma therapy. I take a collaborative approach to identifying challenges and finding solutions to current life circumstances.

“In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety” (Abraham Maslow). Sometimes what feels safe, comfortable, and familiar, is actually unhealthy; change can be hard and the unknown scary. Do you feel stuck, repeating toxic patterns or negative thinking? Have life events or stress become overwhelming or seem unmanageable? Maybe you just need a supportive space to talk about what you’re going through and how you are feeling.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

I utilize emotionally focused therapy. This methodology helps the couple understand their negative cycle and what causes them to have distress. Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on adult relationships and attachment bonding.
I teach the couple tools to improve their communication, understand the type of negative cycle that occurs, and improve on their emotional regulation.
I know that the couple is making meaningful progress by starting to identify patterns in their relationship as well as underlying emotions and have decreased their dysregulation in their daily lives.
I utilize many resources to help the couple determine what their attachment style is, as well as love languages, and I utilize emotionally focused workbooks for couples to guide them through learning how to interact and communicate more effectively.

Thriveworks Couples therapy helps couples work through their specific relationship issues. It is led by licensed professionals — often licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) — who are experts in their field and best-equipped to help couples. Some examples of common focuses within couples therapy include:
Couples therapy works by helping couples identify and better navigate their unique challenges. Following an initial assessment of the couple in terms of strengths and needs, the therapist would then discuss their therapeutic goals and any possible approaches or ways of working together as therapist and couple.Couples attend sessions together, whether they meet in person or by video. In addition to regular couples therapy sessions, each partner may also be asked to attend a few individual sessions to supplement their progress. This will allow their counselor to get to know each individual better, assess each of their personal needs, and develop the very best treatment plan moving forward.
Couples therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and via Online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you and your partner.
On average, couples attend couples therapy for 12 weeks. However, couples therapy may last longer or shorter, dependent on the couples’ needs, the challenges they’d like to work through, and the pace of their progress.
Our therapists in Manassas VA, near Wellington and in Prince William County, have enough experience working with couples to know that neither dream is better or worse. The challenge is reconciling your vision with the picture your partner has for the future.
When you and your partner aren’t on the same page, it can cause friction in the relationship. This can manifest in a multitude of ways, from stony silence when ideas are challenged to fiery rebukes when the wrong thing is said.
Even if your relationship isn’t in crisis, our counselors and therapists can help you identify areas you might need to work on and address them before they become a problem. Our couples therapists and counselors can show ways to improve communications, to allow each of you to share your vision for what each of you wants from the relationship.
