About William
"As a veteran counselor with over three decades of experience, it has been my privilege to travel with many as they navigate dark periods of their lives."
Will Kantz is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has over 36 years of experience working with clients who present anxiety, depression, relationship problems, trauma, and compulsive sexual behavioral issues. He can also integrate interpersonal dynamics unique to people of the Christian faith.
Upon completing his Master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1988, Will began his professional career providing individual and group therapy in psychiatric hospitals. After several years of working in hospitals, he started a private counseling firm providing therapeutic services to the DFW area. This practice thrived until 2020 when life changes (care of his aging parent/marriage of his daughter) and covid compliance brought his counseling business to a close. Now after two years of semi-retirement he has chosen to team with Thriveworks to continue his practice.
The foundation of Will's practice is in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with many of the principles of solutions-focused-brief-therapy to help his client organize their wellness strategy. Many obstacles complicate successful living. Will would like to bring his breadth of experience and compassion to help you adapt and succeed. If you are ready to do the work with his help, schedule an appointment today.

I look forward to working with you to address current challenges, recover from trauma or loss, and/or change behaviors to improve your quality of life so you can feel better. My approach is warm, straightforward, and strengths-based. I believe fervently that all people have infinite value and worth, but sometimes, we come to believe lies of worthlessness or inadequacy. A key to recovery is to reclaim a positive sense of self through an encouraging and honest relationship with a knowledgeable therapist. Let's get started!

About Shelly
"I look forward to working with you to address current challenges, recover from trauma or loss, and/or change behaviors to improve your quality of life so you can feel better. Let's get started!"
Shelly is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has treated adults, adolescents, and families for mood disorders and addictions in DFW for 25 years. The first thing clients notice is her incredible energy and passion for others. In her former life, she held a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre and acted and directed professionally. Shelly is skilled in putting herself in the skin of others and understanding the purpose of their behaviors. As a therapist, understanding people in the context of what they have experienced leads to effective change plans communicated in a compassionate, creative, and engaging manner.
Shelly shows up authentically, spontaneously, and ready to help you feel better. Skilled in assessment, she quickly recognizes patterns and knows an array of effective interventions. Perhaps more important than the change plan developed with the client is the openness and acceptance she brings into the room as she listens to your feelings and concerns.
Life is hard. Let's hold hands crossing the street. We are here together so we can help each other, right? Shelly is open about having recovered from many challenges and enjoys "paying it forward" and supporting others as they choose to do the work of recovery. If something hurts, reach out. You will be glad you did.
